Can't fault this hotel at all. Clean, fresh, decent sized rooms with comfortable beds and plump pillows.
Convenient location if driving as not far from city bypass and decent sized car park at back of hotel. On site restaurant and bar that seemed to be open most of time. Decent buffet style breakfast. Can't go wrong with this hotel especially if you get a saver rate like we did of £31 per room.

Second time here & wont be last! Spotless, comfortable bed, great disabled room, free parking & friendly staff. Add to that very reasonable & bus stop just outside hotel to take you into town! What more can you ask? We will definitely use this hotel again & recommend friends! Thanks guys!

Room Tip: Handy bus for theatre!

Stayed at this cheap hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh, even though they were decorating rooms there was no inconvenience. staff were helpful advising which buses to take to different parts of this great city. stayed for two nights, would recommend, as car park, easy walk to the shopping centre, good breakfast in A.M.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel

Good clean rooms. About 45 minutes walk from royal mile, 10 min by bus ( one way ticket £1.50, return £3.00, all day ticket £3.50 ) breakfast OK ( english breakfast or marmalade / honey / Nutella ) Perfect for 2-3 night stay. If you going to see city not spend all time in hotel this will be perfect for you. Check in after 3 pm, check out before 12 noon. Bus stop next to hotel door. Small but clean bathroom. After 10 pm main door locked but you can open them by door cart key. Going to scotland make sure that you got umbrella with you :) I can say that was good decision to book this hotel. :) :) :) :)

Stayed recently, nice hotel, great location, friendly staff, good price. No frills, but you get what you expect. Food in the bar was also decent. A good place to lay your head when staying in Edinburgh. Short taxi ride to Princess Street.

My wife and I stayed at the Travelodge Cameron Toll, on the last night of our Scottish trip. We chose it because it allowed for easy access to Edinburgh airport to drop off our rental car and catch a morning flight home - and it was cheap.

For our money, we got a large, clean, but starkly plain room that exceeded our expectations for the price paid.

I don't know if we would want to stay at this hotel for an extended period of time, but for one night it was just fine.

Upon early arrival I was impressed with the assistant manager as he helped wheel our suitcases into storage until we could enter our room at 3pm. We were advised an extra £10 allowed us early access at 12pm. I thought this was good and reasonable. Tho we declined the offer as we arrived approx 10am and we wanted to use the day to start and exploring the city.
All buses head to the city center just go in the right direction. Buses are ever so frequent as in every few mins. Night time buses as well.
Upon arrival in our room later on it was nice in size being a family sized room. We got a good price as I booked early on. Generally it was all clean except the floor hadn't been hoovered. However the beds were nicely made.
Bad points: Extractor fan in bathroom not working. Was advised that due to refurbishments to be fixed the day we left.
No lock on bathroom door.
Lack of storage for clothes - No storage space.
No TV remote. We requested one and later they put one in our room.
Daily cleaning: Towels were put on the toilet lid rather then a cleaner location.
Advised by a sign to put used towels in the bathtub when wanting new ones. We never done this as we prefer to lower our carbon footprint tho the towels we folded up were taken and replaced almost daily.
Small soap provided but taken away when 50%used and not replaced.
Bathroom pedal bin was broken. I'm probably nit picking on this one tho.
Floor not hoovered.
No recycling facilities in the room or in the hotel which we thought was terrible. Travel Lodge in my review is therefore not a green company.
Mens bathroom in lobby were clean but no soap. I advised a female member of staff and she just said ok. Yeah i meant i want soap in the bathroom!
I also had an issue with the food after we had a meal this was eventually resolved on our final day. I was advised it would take a short time.
Good points:
New curtains fitted, tbh the old ones were fine.
Extremely comfy beds.
Technically triple glazing, was quiet room.
Warm room. Good temperature.
Shower was great, hot instant water nice and powerful shower.
Braille on signs around hotel for blind/ partially sighted people.
Tea/Coffee/Sugar/Milk was refilled well daily. Top marks there as other hotels always had issues with this.
Great check-in 3pm (£10 Extra for 12pm)/ Out 12pm. Times. Gives you that extra time and great if you were partying all night.
Food was very good value for hotel food, and it was actually really tasty, apart from my issue we enjoyed the quality of our food.
The staff were the best v other Travel Lodges. Extremely friendly and approachable. And speedy service. Only let down was the above soap issue (Look above).
I would stay in this hotel again as tho a few items weren't perfect for the price tag I paid. The service and location I got exceeded my expectations.
I cant recall the staffs names I interacted with but the dark tanned colleague whom I believe was on the night shift I would say was 10/10 for customer service. Politeness, interaction & speed of service.
Travel:Best deal is get a weekly bus card for £17+ £3 admin for 24/7 bus service inc. airport bus. Or Just get a day ticket for £3.50. This doesn't included airport bus or night buses. Buy the weekly+ ticket at travel shop also located at Waverly bridge.
People:Well I think I'm voting Edinburgh as the most friendliest place in the UK! 10/10 is an understatement.
Lots to do in the city and outside. There is never enough time to enjoy Edinburgh as a whole.

Room Tip: Request a family size room if same price as standard room. Will be listed on the booking form then i...
