“Cheap but good value!”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

This hotel is really excellent. It has been freshly revamped and is in a great location on the south side of the centre of Edinburgh. The value of the rooms is excellent. However, be aware that the car park is quite restricted and when we stayed a number of commercial vans/trucks were there and we received damage to our car. This would appear to have been caused by a van not being able to negotiate a tight area of the car park and reversing into the side of our car. I know these things happen, but it is plain that the car park was not designed to take this type of vehicle. These vehicles also parked in all the disabled spaces if no others were available, so check-in early if you have mobility issues.

I've had some absolute nightmares in Travelodges over the years, the highlight of which was a room with a blood-splattered bed in 2009.

This is a far cry from that and is to be commended. We came up for the Edinburgh marathon, and this was the only hotel within 10 miles that wasn't £200 a night.

Clean room, comfy bed, pleasant staff and a half-decent breakfast. It was pretty analogous to the experience you get in a Holiday Inn Express or a Premier Inn. And that is no bad thing at all

I was pleasantly surprised.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Edinburgh but was easy to find using sat nav. The family room (3 of us stayed) was clean and comfortable with free parking. Pleasant reception staff. Excellent value for money.

We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2014 to explore the city of Edinburgh and could not have been more satisfied with our choice. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, they could not have been more helpful. The minor issue we had with the shower was dealt with very promptly and cheerfully.
The location is great, just across the road is a shopping complex with a Burger King and lots of shops. The road next to the hotel is on a major route for many buses into the city centre which means you barely have to wait for one and if the weather is good you can walk there in 20 minutes , just follow the road straight down and you are there.
The fact that there is free parking on site is an added bonus. We would be very happy to use this hotel again and recommend it without hesitation.

Stayed here quite a few times that says something about it, we have stayed in a few B&B's in and around Edinburgh this place would be my first choice, always found the staff to be courteous and friendly. The rooms are clean some more spacious than others but more than adequate for a few days. Usually have breakfast included theres a good choice and the quality is good too. Great location to get to places the city being a short distance away, bus stops are just outside. Would recommend to anyone wanting a city break

This is a great place to stay and our recent visit was our fifth. Our purpose this time was a concert in The Queen's Hall and buses run frequently and just across the street from the hotel. They run 24 hours so no real need to take a taxi. The Queen's Hall is approximately halfway on this road into town.Staff are very attentive and helpful and always make time to chat to you. Very comfortable beds and immaculately clean rooms with a wall mounted TV. We had a meal before going out to the concert and it was very good and lots of it. Very peaceful night and would highly recommend this friendly place to everyone. Keep up the good work, and thank you for a really pleasant stay.

Overall a reasonable place to stay in Edinburgh. Cheap and cheerful room and there is parking, although not much for the number of rooms, so no guarantee that you will get a spot. Staff were ok, but not particularly attentive. Didn't eat or drink in the hotel, but didn't find it particularly welcoming or inclined to do so.

There is a Sainsbury's and shopping centre 5 minutes walk, so if you have forgotten something or want to walk to get a coffee there is Costa.
