“Good value but.......”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

We spent 2 comfortable nights here & were well received by competent & helpful staff (particularly the lady from Bridgend). Room was good sized but with such a silly little washbasin that you couldn't fill the mini kettle! Another minus was the smoking area. Thanks to a recent guest who, I was reliably informed had 2 smelly dogs in his room, smoking was barred outside either of the two entrances. At least the thoughtful staff provided umbrellas when it rained! Of the Travelodges I have stayed in I would place this one second only to Sheffield Meadowhall would certainly stay here again.

Very welcoming staff greeted us. Family room was spacious enough - very clean. Were able yo leave the car and travel into Edinburgh by bus. Bus stop located just across road. Very frequent bus service - only £7.50 for family which included unlimited day travel on buses and teams. Overall a very pleasant place to stay and very convenient for getting into Edinburgh.

This hotel is well placed on the outskirts of city centre on a well provisioned bus route. The whole place was neat and tidy and despite being on the main road side never heard much traffic, even during the rush hour. The breakfast was as good as more expensive hotels and the staff / reception team were very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel special.

I stayed with my boyfriend for 3 nights, we originally booked separate nights at different Travelodge hotels due to reduce availability!
At Cameron Doll we had a fantastic stay! The place is very clean and comfortable, wifi worked perfectly. They have free car park and a bar cafe open until early hours in the morning. The food we had was delicious and not too expensive. Receptionists Gavin and Malvin were absolutelly brilliant, they helped us transfer the other bookings over to Cameron Doll which made it so much easier and enjoyable for us! This two members of staff, as well as the Polish chef were so proffesional, helpful and happy, they clearly enjoy their job very much!
I have nothing negativ to say about this place and would recommend it to friends and family, we'll definitely return!
Thank you guys for making our stay memorable!! Keep up the good work!

The travelodge is a very good alternative to hotel, and is well worth every penny. Staff superb and the rooms were comfortable. I stayed in the middle of the edinburgh fringe when the prices of rooms in the city were extortionate. Travelodge tried to keep them reasonable.

Very friendly staff. Excellent food and varied menu. Room very clean, only complaint, as with all Travelodges, why is the socket situated so far from the mirror, for hairdryers etc!! Plenty hot water and clean towels supplied everyday, whether required or not. Just a 20 min bus ride to Princes Street with bus stop across the road and on return stops right outside door. Would stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

Stayed at this Travelodge whilst our recent stay in Edinburgh for the Tattoo. Staff excellent, rooms typical for this group but clean and practical. Bus stop across the road with a frequent bus service. Breakfast lovely, really good value. Could not find any faults, only positives.

Room Tip: Staff so helpful, if you have any preference I am sure they will oblige.
