This tour is excellent, and definitely doesn't feel like it should be free. It's just as good as, if not better than, other tours that I've had to pay for. At the end of the tour, you're just asked to tip whatever you think it was worth.
Our tour guide Sean was friendly, funny, and had lots of stories and informational tidbits to keep us entertained. The tour involved various highland viewpoints, the Wallace Monument, Loch Katrine, a lunch stop in Aberfoyle, a short nature walk to a waterfall, feeding carrots to hairy coos, and a visit to Doune Castle (which is a filming location for Monty Python, Game of Thrones, and Outlander).
I highly recommend this tour to anyone in Edinburgh with a free day to spare, especially if you'd like to see a lot of highland spots in a (relatively) short amount of time. I'm half tempted to go again myself!More
