My husband, two daughters and myself booked the "Edinburgh and Surrounding Areas" tour with Discreet Tours in late May. From the moment we met Matthew in Edinburgh, we knew we were in for an amazing day! Punctual, courteous, polite, attentive, jovial and obliging, Matthew showed us Scotland like a family friend. His knowledge about everything "Scottish" is unbelievable and there's plenty of time to do your own thing: no rush. He took us to a fantastic "pub" for lunch with mouth watering, enormous hamburgers. The Aussie accent did not deter him and we exchanged information about both countries as he drove us to places that normal tours do not go to. It was truly a day to remember; we had a fantastic time touring with our first Scotsman in kilt, and we highly recommend Discreet Tours for your visit to Scotland.

We were met by our guide Jim on time at our hotel and spent a wonderful day seeing many sites that we had not visited on past visits to Scotland. His knowledge of the area and the historical significance of the sites we visited were both informative and entertaining. We would highly recommend Discreet Scotland to any visitors looking for an intimate tour of important sites and also some off the beaten path (Melrose Abbey and others). The guide makes the tour and Jim made ours very memorable. We will certainly be back!!

We can't say enough good things about Matthew and Discreet Scotland. They made our time in Scotland so much more enjoyable than if we had driven ourselves - and we saw so much more than we ever would have had we driven. Mathew knew the best times and places for visits. He was prompt, helpful and fun. He made sure everything was perfect. In fact, he was so good, he made it hard on our guide from Ireland to fill his shoes. Thx, Matthew!! Hope to be be back soon and you will be my first reservation.

Matthew is amazing and we highly recommend him to everyone planning on visiting Scotland. He knew EXACTLY what we wanted to see. He was very professional, yet he was fun and talked and laughed with us and didn't treat us like tourists. He honestly became our friend the week we were with him! We went to Ireland and wanted to take him with us! He made the trip very exciting for us. We miss him already!

We only had two full days in Scotland and wanted to make the most of both of them. We hired Discreet Scotland for our first full day to visit two of Scotland's castles, Balmoral and Glamis. What we got was some of the most beautiful countryside scenery, a lovely day where we didn't have to do any of the driving (so no fighting over the map, GPS or anxiety about the other side of the road) and one of the nicest and fun to be with tour guides, Geoffrey (gosh, I hope I'm spelling that right) as well as the two castles. Talking with him in the car was equally as fun as the sights we got to see. He charmed my teenage daughters especially when they learned he could play AC/DC on the bagpipes! This is not a jammed packed tour. Driving from Edinburgh to Balmoral doesn't leave time for much else so don't plan to "see it all". We got exactly what we expected. First class service and a delightful first taste of Scotland. Our guide even stopped at a local stand and we enjoyed some of the best strawberries, blueberries and raspberries we've ever tasted! That little extra went a long way with us.
