It is neat to learn about the work of the officers and seamen on the Royal Yacht. Then contrast that with the luxury of the Queen's and royal quarters. Astounding!

“Fantastic and enlightening tour”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

On a day trip to Edinburgh this was the unexpected highlight of the day. This provided a real insight into the way the ship looked and was used in its hey-day. There is no question that this yacht was really loved by all who sailed in her - from the Queen down to the lowest rating and everyone in-between. It was also a great trip back into the history of the monarchy in its recent past. We had a snack in the Royal Tea rooms - the latte came with choclate sprinkes formed into an image of the yacht! Well worth the entrance fee. Leith was relatively easy to access on the Majestic Bus Tour, but I can't help thinking that if it was moored somewhere more populated - London, Liverpool or Bristol it would get even more visitors than it already has.

“A great experience”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

A fascinating look at a British icon. Very well organised with audio tour included and with very friendly, helpful staff. Good value and really interesting to see how the royal family lived on the royal yacht.
Easy to get to with free parking. Well worth a half day if you are in Edinburgh. The on board restaurant is not huge and gets very busy at lunchtime (which is why I cannot review it) but looks good.
