Owner description: St Giles’ Cathedral is the historic City Church of Edinburgh. With its famed crown spire it stands on the Royal Mile between Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Also known as the High Kirk of Edinburgh, it is the Mother Church of Presbyterianism and contains the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle (Scotland’s chivalric company of knights headed by the Queen). Please do not book any tours through TripAdvisor, as they are not endorsed by the cathedral.

I have always loved walking through old churches and cathedrals. St. Giles is lovely to look at and is full of the history of Scotland. I is well worth the time to see it.

Peaceful and just in time for an Easter time of Prayer and Bible readings.

Go and visit this cathedral.
It is amazing for it's structure and art, very rich in historical monuments. Do not miss the chapel on the back right and side, it is a jewel of wood art.
Then after visiting it on your own take a "Underground tour" and get all the extra information about this site during the tour, lots of anecdotes and stories that book guides do not tell about!

The Cathedral had some nice stained windows, free entry
and big organ. However they changed if you want to take photo's.
