We had a one night stay and found the room (castle view) nice and roomy with a comfortable bed to die for. The lighting was great and the bathroom well appointed and attractive.
The sliding glass door to the bathroom is difficult to open once closed and the lighting switches take some working out (especially for my mum!).
The parking, the reception (maybe too many questions?) and the lifts were all great and the food in the bar was good. Service was a little hard to attract but then again, we were left in peace for our lengthy family meetings.
The cooked breakfast was nice but we found all the different options confusing. Can we have breakfast included in the price maybe?

Small quibble: the music in the bar in the afternoon was unbearable (some live 'jazz' singer) and the tape at breakfast was irritating - but I always hate music at breakfast time (soft classical the only possible exception).

I like a properly laid table at breakfast with side plates, side knives, toast, butter and marmalade. I had to ask for all of the above.

Luxurious and in a great location - I would return any time! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Once again, a most enjoyable weekend stay at the Sheraton - which is now even better after the makeover :) The rooms are more than large enough, the bed so comfortable (and HUGE!) - and the mood lighting in the en-suite was most impressive.
The staff were more than helpful when required, but not in your face when not. Stuart, the Concierge was more than helpful in booking us a table at a restaurant which was already 'fully booked' (we tried to book online, but there was nothing available). He certainly knew a lot of people at various venues, and was very knowledgable about everything we enquired about.
We'll definitely be back at some point - and both our grown up kids spend a few nights there every January as part of their Christmas.

Room Tip: We've never been in a room that hasn't faced the castle - and we wouldn't have it any ot...

I was taken here for Afternoon Tea by my daughter for Mothers Day. What an experience. I have been to many places for afternoon tea but this was the best. I was treated like a queen and the food tasted as good as it looked.

This hotel looks out on the Usher Hall and the Castle, and is a 3 minute walk from the EICC. (Sadly not under cover though, so borrow an umbrella from the hotel if the weather isn't great...). For the EICC, it's perfect. For other things, it's pretty handy as long as you don't mind walking. (It's 10-15 mins from most things)

The pool and gym here are amazing, so try to take some time away from seeing Edinburgh's sites to enjoy them!

Staff are friendly and helpful, but there aren't always enough around at checkout and checkin times, though otherwise they were great. The castle view rooms are very nice, you really can just look out of your window and see the castle up above you!

This isn't a cheap hotel, but if it's in your budget, it is very very nice! A great example of how a 5* city centre hotel should be.

Room Tip: Try to get a castle view

Spent a few days here last week with my daughter as a treat and the Sheraton Grand doesn't ever fail to impress. Staff helpful and attentive but not overbearing, rooms are very modern but yet warm and cosy with beds that give the best nights sleep ever!

Can't fault such a beautiful hotel in a perfect location and views of the castle worth the extra.

Looking forward to another stay, hopefully sometime soon.

We were very pleased with this hotel on our trip to Edinburgh. Location is perfect for exploring the city (just walk out the door and everything is close). The rooms were very nice, the resteraunt and bar were great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed in the Sheraton for just one night before Christmas and was luck enough to be upgraded to a club room with amazing views of Edinburgh Castle. We booked via lastminute and had a number of problems with the booking( lastminute .com issues) but the front desk manager did everything he could to help resolve the situation and in the end gave us the upgraded room at no extra cost. Worth checking if access to the spa is included in room rate, it's a lovely full service spa with outdoor hot-tub overlooking Edinburgh castle . You can access the indoor pool without extra charge but the spa is squally around £35 per person extra unless included in room rate. When we used it in December the hot tub wasn't warm enough to compensate for the chilly Scottish wind so I would have been disappointed if I had paid extra to access this, though the thermal rooms, sauna etc are all really nice. The bedrooms are really nice, following refurbishment with cool lighting and speakers throughout room and bathroom. We didn't eat in the hotel but the restuarants and breakfast area have a more corporate feel than relaxing few days away.

If I was going to edinburgh for a special weekend away I would still choose the Balmoral as it has more of a personal feel but the Sheraton is still a great hotel, with comfy beds and friendly staff.

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra go for a castle view room
