Very close to the castle and across from camera obscura, we decided that this would be something interesting to do. It goes through an amusement park type ride introduction to whiskey making and then you get to have a presentation where they talk to you about the different areas in Scotland that make whiskey and the different flavors or smells the whiskey may have. Then you get to taste a type of whiskey of your choosing or if you pay a bit more, you can try them all. You also get to see this amazing collection of whiskeys! If you are short on time, it's a good choice because the whole thing lasts about an hour.

Fun intro to whisky, with a barrel tour through the basics of how it's made, then fascinating description with scratch and sniff cards of the four main areas of production, ending with a generous tasting in among cases and cases of different bottles of Scotch.

Near the castle so easy to find

I visited recently with my husband and 22 year old son. My husband likes whisky but I'm not a huge fan and neither is our son so this tour was for hubby really! However it proved to be a very interesting and informative experience for all 3 of us. We did the silver tour which included a short but fun barrel ride which explained how whisky is made after which a group of us were asked to sit in a room while the presenter introduced us to the various whisky regions in Scotland. This was then followed by some whisky tasting and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it tasted. You then of course finish up in the shop where you are literally spoiled for choice at the vast collection of whisky available to buy. Very enjoyable.

I'm not a fan of whisky (or whiskey) but wanted to take this tour for the educational aspect of it. A barrel ride takes you through the process of making whisky, then you get a chance to taste it for yourself. I found the presentation about the different regions in Scotland where whisky is made to be the most interesting part of the tour. The whisky collection is incredible.

This is an old school house converted into the scotch whiskey experience. We did the silver package.

There is a cheesy but fun barrel ride audio-video show. Then you go to a room with a presenter who teaches abt regions of scotch. You get to try scotch tasting. Then they show you an awesome scotch collection. Later you can but scotch from the bar ( actually pretty cheap).
