“Delightful boutique hotel”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

Sumptuous rooms, wonderfully comfortable beds, good food, warm welcome, good service and great location. You really can't ask for much better. And each time we stay, there's always a little something that's different and a delight. This time, it was the spacious room, with high ceilings and wonderful 4 poster bed - very romantic. We do stay in other hotels in Edinburgh, recently Malmaison ( Great hotel, but go out for dinner) and Novotel ( Ordinary and bland) but when we can afford to treat ourselves - this is the hotel for us.
Stayed for a two night break in March, parked the car at the back of the hotel, and then just walked to everywhere in the city - for evening drinks, meals, retail and to the Water of Leith and on to the Botanic Gardens to see the magnificent magnolia trees. Great weekend break.
Just one thing that we appreciate would be a personal safe in the rooms, but apart from this, a really great boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the front for sunshine, a room at the back for views.

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at The Bonham. Bed was the comfiest ever, room was just a tad warm (but we've put that down to the weather outside, which the Bonham can't control), dinner was the best meal I've had in a while, and the service by all staff was second to none, especially as my husband had left his jacket in the restaurant, and when they tracked us down (they had gone to our room first), we were sitting in the bar enjoying a cocktail. We also couldn't get the tv to work (which considering the movie channel was part of our package we needed it to be working), but within 5 mins the remote had been replaced and the tv kick started. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 202 was nice and bright

We only stayed one night at The Bonham but would happily return again and again, our meal was delicious, the room (308) was lovely with a stunning view and the bed was so comfortable. It also has free car parking - extremely handy. Unfortunately it was only a fleeting visit to Edinburgh but believe you would struggle to find anywhere better in the area for the price.

We stated at the Bonham as a late honeymoon and found it fantastic! It is situated superbly, close to everything we needed but very quiet in the evening and overnight. We were greeted with complimentary drinks to celebrate the wedding.
The room was very comfortable and well equipped, but was slightly disappointed to find no Sky tv in the room! Minor I know.
The full Scottish breakfast was very tasty. When it is initially presented it looks rather meagrely, but upon eating it, it is quite filling!
The customer service is second to none.
We didn't have dinner there as it was fully booked, so I guess it must be good!
Overall a very enjoyable visit, made even better by the Bonham.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Room Tip: Book your table early for dinner!

Returned to The Bonham to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Perfect few days and a great customer experience. When booking our room I fleetingly mentioned our wedding anniversary as we unfortunately couldn't reserve a room for that particular night, but when having dinner (two days prior to our wedding anniversary) we were given complimentary celebration drinks - top marks to the reservations assistant for this gesture. Superb hotel.

Stayed here for the rugby Six Nations and were very pleased with the standard of hotel and the customer service. Only disappointment was not getting to eat in the restaurant due to a wedding then when we discovered it was opening later, we couldn't get a table. Would stay again.
