Stayed here for business a few time - very nice rooms, hotel located on a delightful quiet square. Good for the West end, bit of a hike for Waverly station esp if the weather is bad. Service very good too. Comfy beds. Rooms have nice decor (mine did anyway). The bar was under construction when i stayed there last but it looked interesting....

My partner and I stayed for two nights recently after being given some vouchers at christmas. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our petite room was more than ample with its queen size bed with fabulous mattress. We looked out over the back and it was lovely to see all the different types of buildings and it was very quiet. Breakfast was served piping hot and also plenty on the buffet table. Some parking available at rear of hotel. The little bar served a great variety of whisky and some cocktails, the barman willing to make anything you wished !
All in all a very pleasant and relaxing stay, we will be returning in the months to come and may not ever stay anywhere else again whilst in Edinburgh.

Room Tip: we stayed on first floor facing the back which was quiet

We stayed at the Bonham recently for one night and it was an excellent stay. The room was very spacious and the views were beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and it was great value for money. We had breakfast in the room over looking the city and the dinner was also of a high quality. I would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel which had great views

We stayed here for one night whilst on a short trip in Edinburgh. We arrived early with the hope to be able to park our car in the hotel car park and check in later but our room was ready and the very pleasant reception lady checked us in straight away which was very helpful. We booked a petit room and the size of the room was perfectly fine. A nice big comfy bed, dressing table, full size bathroom etc. I guess if you were staying for a week u maybe would like more wardrobe space but lets face it most people live out of there suitcase for a short break anyway. The room was modern, clean and we were lucky enough to have a nice view. Nice tolietries were provided. Breakfast was lovely, cooked and presented well. Nice restaurant area and pleasant staff.
The hotel is in a nice area of Edinburgh. Bars, restaurants and shops are in easy reach and I would say Edinburgh Castle is approximately 10 mins walk away.
Overall I would say this is a nice little modern hotel with friendly staff and nice food. It was definitely worth the money.

Lovely quiet location with excellent reception staff. All requests were dealt with efficiently and politely. Great value for money in a City location close to shops etc. and excellent breakfast included.

The room was lovely and had a view over Drumsheugh Gardens. The bathroom was adequate but looking a little tired. Lighting over the mirror in the bedroom was poor and I had to stretch over the toilet in the bathroom to apply make-up but a small concern!

Room service was brilliant and the bar service wonderful. Looking forward to visiting again.

Room Tip: We were in a standard room - room 300 - ask for a room with a view

Stayed at The Bonham last week for two nights. First, the good points: excellent value for money; very good breakfast (which was included with my rate); unbeatable location; stunning views; and the lovely barman (I think his name was Alex) in The Consulting Room who made my day with an amazing banana, toffee and chocolate dessert.

I think The Bonham is missing a few tricks for its women guests - although to be fair, we seemed to be outnumbered by the men. A few suggestions to make women's stays more pleasant... First, replace the hair dryers with more powerful ones; the current ones seem to waft mildy warm air in your direction. Second, ladies would really appreciate hair conditioner and body lotion - that being said, the Molton Brown shower gel and shampoo were a treat. An in room safe would be welcome for our jewellery. My king size bed was a bit of a disappointment as it was two singles pushed together with a ravine running down the middle - not a problem as I was travelling by myself but couples might find it a bit disappointing... Lastly, the duvet and pillows were synthetic - it would be nice to have the choice of a few feather pillows at least.

Overall, a pleasant experience and you simply can't be the location, view and value. I would return and recommend if the above suggested improvements were addressed.

We used the Bonham to break our journey on the way to the western isles. The hotel was convenient and benefitted from on-site parking which is a real bonus in Edinburgh. The room was a good size but a bit dated especially in the bathroom. Generally clean and comfortable but showing quite a lot of wear and tear and could do with some updating such as wi-fi in the rooms rather than just public areas. For convenience we used the restaurant in the evening which coped well with allergies and delivered good standard food. The dining room is an impressive panelled room well dressed and lit. The staff were friendly but offered no assistance on arrival and the corridors are a labyrinth to navigate with luggage. We would use the hotel again for a stop off but not for more than one night. Probably expected a little more from historic accolades.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor at the rear of the building for quiet and great views
