I booked this hostel for a week to explore Edinburgh and Scotland. The best thing was the location: just some metres from the Royal Mile, with lots of historic places at hand and great pubs and restaurants nearby.
The dorms were quite small, with little space to place the bags and belongings. Apart from that, the beds didn't have curtains or any kind of protection for both the intimacy and for keep the light away in case someone lights it.
The staff was correct, they were kind and helpful with any problem you might have. Although the checking in and checking out times were quite hard, they had no problem if you store your bag or suitcase in the living room. Otherwise, I had no other problem with them.
They offer a good breakfast everyday for an additional 1.90 pounds, and they have a huge kitchen if you want to cook for yourself. They have a boiling water machine, in case you want a tea or a correo whenever you want.
So, a good option if you want to visit the beautiful city of Edinburgh on a budget.More
