We checked in for hen night and they asked us to cut down number of rooms we had booked, this was no problem for us and they gave us £100 bar credit and 4 bottles of fizz in our room. Graet location and spotless hotel. Would stay again if looking for a central hotel.

Stayed here recently, Taxi drivers didn't know where Jeffery Street was! When we found it, it had a good enough location, near Royal Mile and quite near Princes Street. Stayed 1 night so it was good for short visit. If you are looking for just a basic bed to stay in and no extras, this ticks the box. This was one of the few hotels where we could book 3 into a room so our choice was limited. Price was also within budget, beds and bathroom were clean.

I only found this place because it was on offer on anothr website. Ther seem to be some bad reviws of this place but i didnt have any problems. Was cheap and close to the city centre so if you are plannin a nite out it's good. It's not the nicest hotel but it's definitely not the worst either like some of the reviewers are saying. Pretty good man.

The room itself was basic but clean and the food was fine. However, I would be very wary of leaving ANYTHING lying out in your room if you go out for the day, as my new bottle of perfume was missing when I returned to my room at the end of the day. There are signs in the rooms advising guests to leave items in safety deposit boxes at the reception but I didn't think I would have to do this with my toiletries!! When I spoke to a member of the management team they offered me complimentary drinks but seemed completely uninterested in investigating the matter any further. Very disappointing.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time write a review about your recent stay in Edinburgh. I am disappointed to hear that an item from your room went missing, we have strict procedures in place where housekeeping do not move anything from the room. I am sorry you feel the incident was not handled correctly and thank you for brining this to my attention I will be sure to follow this up with the member of our team you spoke to. We did carry out an investigation when this was reported and no one entered your room apart from the member of housekeeping that cleaned your room. We have spoken to this member of our team and they do not recollect moving anything from your room. I apologise that something has gone missing from your room during your stay and can assure you this is a very rare occurrence and would be happy to discuss a suitable resolution to the issue should you be available to contact me on the details below.

Our holiday in Edinburgh was completely ruined when we arrived at the hotel we had high expectations due to other friends visit. However the accomodation practically ruined our holiday due to a lack of simple basics and a slow reaction due to staff!!

One example is that we didn't have a bath plug, which to me is a simple necessity when in a hotel. When we then asked reception, it was a whole hour until we recieved one!!!
During the night, the heating system seemed to be strange; heating up an turning off making te heat in the room unbearable!!

But we were to go in a jurys inn in Newcastle a few months later so we complained to reception to see if all jurys inn are like this. But reception said they would give us a discount or put in a nicer room for when we go to Newcastle. However when we went on that holiday no discount or upgrade was recorded!!

Overall the hotel ruined our holiday and would not reccomend this hotel to anyone unless they seriously changed staff service and check all rooms before guests arriving so they are not lacking simple needs.

Dear Harriet,

Firstly thankyou for taking the time to leave feedback for out hotel, we always appreciate feedback good or bad & I am please to hear that you choose our hotel based on positive feedback from friends about their stay with us.

I am disappointed to hear a simple request took an hour to resolved, we use a pager system to record times of guests requests and it is very unusual for a request to take anything more than 20 minutes, so let me apologize for this and assure you that this is an irregularity and not standard of the service we offer. Although regardless we also check all rooms twice before allowing guests to enter so this should have been picked up on prior to your arrival. The heating in the bedrooms is controlled by a thermostat on the radiator in each room, I will ensure a member of staff is available to show you how this works a should you wish to return.

As a discount was already offered to you at the time I would be happy to arrange this for you, please contact me directly on the e-mail address below should you want to stay with us again or in Newcastle again, I am sorry again this was not followed up on at the time and hope you will give us the opportunity to demonstrate that our usual level of service is very high.

Kind Regards

Hotel was nice. Breakfast good Room not very big. No air-conditioning so had to leave windows open. Very noisy as train station directly facing front of hotel so if you like to lie on in mornings this is not for you. Room at rear of hotel may have been better. Location of hotel was excellent.

Dear Guest,

Thankyou for taking the time to leave feedback and also for mentioning the positive parts of your time in our hotel, however please accept my apologies that the noise from the outside disturbed you during your stay. While the rooms at the front of the hotel offer better views of the city they are overlooking the station so the rooms at the back tend to be quieter. Please contact me directly should you wish to stay again and we will ensure you receive a room at the back of the hotel where it will be more peaceful.

My review is as of September 3rd, 2012. Jury's is located on Jeffery Street very close to Waverly Station. As there is no central heating or cooling, your windows become your weather by opening and closing them. The street noise on the front of the building is loud and between the servicing trucks and the trains, you are in for a rough night. The sparkling windows in the picture are dirty and not nice. The rooms as others have said are so basic, you fell like you have taken several steps backward. Refurbishment is a word they need to know. The facilities "bathrooms" are vintage. The beds are mostly full or queen and are hard. The location is a long alleyway off the Royal Mile. It is good. The staff blamed central reservations for not telling us that the wireless only worked in certain areas. It is weak through out. Be prepared to pay for the WiFi. So clearly after staying there on a tour in 2010 and then on our own here in 2012, we should have known better.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere unless you have a limited travel budget.
