Hotel was nice and clean, we had a good stay. One of the staff members were really unnecessarily rude and unhelpful, but the rest of the staff was very nice. Breakfast was a busy affair but very nice. Good location, within easy walking distance of the main attractions. Limited paid parking available.

We stayed for the weekend, the location was appealing as it was seconds from the royal mile and within walking distance to both new town and old town. Room was clean, had everything we needed, you pay for what you get and can't go wrong! We were most impressed with the self service check in - took us less than a minute rather than having to wait in a queue. Parking is 15 quid a night, however the machine was broken the 2nd night and the gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to just wipe it off for the night, leaving us with a nights free parking :)
Would recommend if you want somewhere close to nightlife and the train station - you can't really go wrong for the price!

Room Tip: Use the self service check in rather than waiting in the queues!

Stayed here for one night on Saturday 4th January, while visiting Edinburgh to see The Lion King at the Playhouse. The hotel is in an excellent location, just a few yards from the royal mile. Despite being so central, we didn't experience a lot of noise in our rooms even though it was a Saturday night. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the Playhouse, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff extremely helpful. There is a small amount of parking available behind the hotel, charged at £15 for up to 24 hours, remember to pay before you leave though, I almost made that mistake, the Pay Mater is pretty hidden unless you're using the back entrance to the hotel.

Excellent location, just off the royal mile and a ten min walk from the train station/Princes Street, perfect location for Hogmanay! Cafés, restaurants and bars are near and the street is fine. The hotel looked after our suitcases after checkout at no charge which was great.
The room was fine, what you would expect from a travelodge. We just had a shower, no bath, no amenities and only one towel between two. No major issues, quiet at night.
I will return, great location and good prices, even for Hogmanay it was not at all as expensive as other hotels for the 31st.

Stayed with my 3 children between 27/12/13 & 31/12/13 and was very impressed. Arrived early and could leave our bags free of charge until check in time. Rooms were excellent, staff were excellent - asked for milk for my children on 2 of the nights and the staff were more than happy to provide me with this even offering to heat it up for me. Had evening meal on 2 evenings and had no fault which the meals, breakfast was excellent. Rooms were clean, comfortable and for being next to a busy road very quiet. Read terrible reviews for this hotel but none of these were true. I will most definitely stay at this hotel again as it was close to everything I need when I stay in edinburgh.

The hotel is close to the train station and High street. It provides us the hotel standard stay thou the price is super cheap. I did not experience any inconvenience staying there. Well it is a bit noisy since it is by the street but it did not bother me as I did not stay in the room often. There are no toiletries provided but as they said, they only provide the necessities to reduce the cost of your stay. Overall I am very satisfied with the 22 pounds stay in such a clean and nice hotel. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for four nights from 28/12/13 to 1/1/14. The hotel was in an excellent location just off the royal mile, less than a 10minute walk from Waverly station and surrounded by a number of cafes and restaurants, and also close to Princes Street which was great for our Hogmanay stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The double room was spacious and had secondary glazing, plenty of plug sockets to charge cameras + phones and the bed was comfortable, if slightly firm. Curtains blocked out light well but slid off the rail easily.

The shower was a slight issue; the floor of it was so shallow that the whole bathroom floor ended up soaking more than once. Once past the reception area, the hotel was very warm, a little too warm for me but I don't like my room too hot. Walls seemed pretty soundproof but noise in corridor travelled into the room easily.

The staff allowed us to leave our bags at the front desk after we checked out at no extra charge, which was a great advantage as our train was not due to leave for another two hours.

Would definitely stay here again as the location is excellent and hotel is comfortable.
