the hotel is ok. Ok for family: the position is really strategic, you can reach very easily the castel and most of the places of interest in the Edimburgh centre. Breakfast is served with efficiency and the room have enough spaces. It lacks lounge and commom places (as most of travelodge, i guess).

Room Tip: if you want silence you should ask for rooms with view on the back. Anyway the street is not so nois...

This is not a brand I'm particularly fond of, however I booked last minute and most other places in Edinburgh were either full or ridiculously expensive. Sadly my prejudices were confirmed. The hotel is in a great location just off the Royal Mile, the staff were friendly and efficient.

Sadly the room was basic, water coming out of the shower, a toilet that flushed and bed you could lay on, that's about it. Our biggest issue was that the room was stiflingly hot (as was most of the hotel) making sleeping difficult, the only option was to open the window and then the noise from the street kept us awake. We also had problems with rowdy hen party crowds in the corridor during the night (not the hotels fault I know).

We stayed for two nights and the room wasn't serviced during the day, instead the maid knocked on the door about 5pm and asked if we wanted fresh towels and tea/coffee.

Overall not a pleasant experience.

This hotel is easily one of the best Travelodge hotels I have ever stayed in. Rooms we're clean and well presented, the housekeeping team checked with me every morning to see if I needed anything (what a fantastic team of people). All of the hotel is very clean and well presented at all times, bar prices and food prices are very reasonable considering the hotels location. Every member of staff was polite kind and professional at all times. However there are two members of team - Sam and Maggie who always had a smile on their faces and ensured that my stay was the best it could be this is why they deserve special recommendation in this review.

I would whole heartedly recommend this Travelodge to any one staying in Edinburgh.

We'll done !!!!

Room Tip: My First floor room was fab but I don't think there could be a bad room in the place due to its...

We booked a double room for our four-night stay there. It was very great of being there!! The room was very big, and it looked just newly refurbished. Bed was very comfortable, and the restroom was good as well, very clean and bright with lights (One thing to remind travelers was: remember to bring your own personal use as they don't provide it.) We would like to choose this lodge again when we come back to this beautiful city next time. Definitely, one of the best choices for travelers in Edinburgh.

Room Tip: Try to pay the WiFi fee in advance to get the unlimited access in room during the stay-time. It was...

Situated around the corner from the Royal Mile, this comfortable Travel Lodge offers spacious family rooms and a hassle free stay. The room was modern, clean and the beds were freshly made up on arrival. The all you can eat buffet breakfast was a pleasant optional extra and made for a very relaxing start to the day. As expected near a busy road, there was some external noise but nothing that disturbed a very comfortable nights sleep.

Fantastic location, lovely and clean, just been refurbished, great breakfast with free kids too, added bonus, my only gripe is the parking fee......whilst £15 is not bad for 24 hours parking in a city centre, I feel as a resident of the hotel whom has paid to stay, added on food, added on drinks parking should be free. That said I would return. Many Thanks

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Travelodge Central Edinburgh in July 2014. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, very very central and surrounded by restaurants and things to do. It is right around the corner from the royal mile which contains a lot of tourist attractions. This saves money on buses/taxis etc. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
