Stayed in many of the rooms, they are all exceptionally comfortable and well appointed, nothing is wanting and the attention to detail is beyond expectation. The staff are all delightful and very patient with their guests, there have been some changes and new faces but standards and service continue to excel. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Edinburgh. This hotel ranks with the best hotels in the world. Congratulations James, I think your rates are too low!

Room tip: you literally cant pick a bad room they are all unique and perfect

We started a family meal , with champagne and canapes , which were very tasty, perhaps the prawn ball was abit big. The stars were the main of cod , the mushroom paste on toast in the starter ,the cheese platter, brownie dessert other food was still good ( though the pheasant roll was abit too cold to taste of much) The room was an excellent size for 9 people and the waiter for the evening ( which in my opinion much better than multiple) was very attentive and friendly. We had a lovely time, would return and reccomend.

Wow! Prestonfield House Hotel is a feast for the eyes. Every inch of this gorgeous place is filled with lovely things. With a Scottish/Victorian vibe its a great place for an afternoon tea. The food was delicious and we were so full that we wound up not eating dinner later that evening. Service was a bit slow, but we were seated in a different room from most of the others taking tea. The grounds were also stunning and they even have two Highland Cows on the property that were very friendly and came over to us when we took photos of them.

The four day visit to Edinburgh was the last stop of our two week tour of Scotland. While we stayed in some very fine hotels, Prestonfield House was easily our favorite, not only due to the beautiful grounds and historic setting but mainly the wonderful warm welcome and highly personal service of the entire staff. The head Concierge Jakub Adamczyk made us feel like honored guests in a private Scottish manor house. He kindly provided us a personal tour of Prestonfield along with a detailed narration of the home’s fascinating history. He recognized us, by name from the first day and could not have been more personally attentive our every need. Prestonfield is fortunate to have a professional of Jakub’s caliber as it’s primary representative in house.

This historic property, built in the 17th Century by the architect of Holyrood Castle is truly a haven from busy touristy Edinburgh. Although only a 10 minute taxi ride from downtown it is set on beautiful and manicured grounds. The house itself is authentically decorated with period antiques and paintings. The rooms are equipped with all modern luxury amenities while retaining their original historic elegance, The restaurant is excellent and the service is outstanding.
