Owner description: Looking for an entertaining way to find out about Edinburgh its history & traditions, then look no further. Yes a guide book can help you plan a tour of Edinburgh. They list the popular tourist attractions in Edinburgh but what they cannot do is give you the real stories and legends associated with places of interest and Edinburgh’s characters. This is where the Saints & Sinners tour guides come in, they bring Edinburgh Alive!! Our experienced tour guides are residents of Edinburgh this gives them unique inside knowledge, and they can also provide helpful tips, most importantly our tour guide can take you to great places in Edinburgh for that behind the scenes look that you would otherwise have missed out on. We can create customised itineraries to suit particular needs.

“A great tour with a great guide”
Reviewed 8 June 2012 via mobile

Peter Hamilton does an excellent job of bringing the city and it's characters to life. He is friendly, humorous, knowledgeable and most importantly enthusiastic about his art. We booked a tour through our accommodation service and were pleased that it could be customised to our interests. We exchanged a few detailed emails discussing the best way forward as we had both an infant and his grandparents to cater to! Eventually, we decided on a walk down the Royal Mile.

Peter was able to tell us a lot and took us through some less familiar routes along the mile (my wife and I had been to Edinburgh before). He was also kind enough to stop with us for a short tea break as the grandparents were getting a little tired with the walking (and the windy weather!). We ended by Holyrood palace and Peter was with us right till we got into a cab! This is only possible with a private tour.

We felt very well taken care of and cannot recommend this enough!!

“Fantastic Insight!”
Reviewed 5 June 2012

Although we have lived in Edinburgh for several years and thought we knew the history of the City, Old and New Towns, this trip with Peter was very very worthwhile. Probably the best 2 hours we have spent sightseeing - don't know why we haven't done it before. Peter is a master of this art, and puts across the subject at exactly the right level and detail. We will definately use him again when we have friends visiting.

“Great tour!”

I thought this was an excellent tour. Lots of great storytelling in an engaging way. In the space of 2 to 3 hours you will have seen most of the city and know a great deal more about the different parts of it. Highly recommended!

“Looking for a fun and informative tour this is the place to be”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

I did a private tour and booked via his website. If you are looking for a not so typical tour with boring guides dropping facts in every sentence, but some informative entertainment combined with the normal guidy stuff you must call Peter.

“Great fun - recommended”
Reviewed 4 June 2012 via mobile

We spent a Saturday afternoon with Peter walking through Edinburgh. His knowledge of the city is great and he is a great storyteller. He also had some good tips for food and night life entertainment so it is great to start of a long weekend in Edinburgh. Good value for money, courteous and on time. Absolutely recommended.
