Owner description: Looking for an entertaining way to find out about Edinburgh its history & traditions, then look no further. Yes a guide book can help you plan a tour of Edinburgh. They list the popular tourist attractions in Edinburgh but what they cannot do is give you the real stories and legends associated with places of interest and Edinburgh’s characters. This is where the Saints & Sinners tour guides come in, they bring Edinburgh Alive!! Our experienced tour guides are residents of Edinburgh this gives them unique inside knowledge, and they can also provide helpful tips, most importantly our tour guide can take you to great places in Edinburgh for that behind the scenes look that you would otherwise have missed out on. We can create customised itineraries to suit particular needs.

“Highly recommend!”

Peter was recommended by a client of mine, and we were not disappointed! We had a lovely tour with him of both Edinburgh Castle and Old Town. He was extremely knowledgeable but presented the history of his city in a very interesting way. The time flew by! It's such a beautiful city, made even more special by the history Peter shared with us. His rates were extremely reasonable as well, compared to the price of other private tours we went on while in the U.K. I would not hesitate to recommend Peter!

“Terrific Edinburgh Castle & City Tour June 15, 2014”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Peter is incredibly knowledgable about Edinburgh and it's wonderful Castle! Our group of 3 (a 70 yr old, me - a 61 yr and a 34 yr old - all women) hired Peter to take us on his Edinburgh Old & New tour. It was a misting, cool morning Sunday morning when we met him at the entrance to Edinburgh Castle - not a problem for us from rainy Seattle! Peter, dressed in his McKenzie tartan kilt, toured us through the Castle while giving us the history and the secrets! He made the history come alive and we were fascinated by what we learned. After the Castle he continued to take us all over the Old Town section letting us know what life was like 325+ yrs ago. With him we walked over to the New Town section (built between 1776 and 1826) and found out more history on everything from gardens to the best place for real Scottish food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Peter. He gave us tips on what to see in Edinburgh and what not to bother with given that we were only there for 3 days. And as a thrifty Scotsman he pointed out to us that if we buy a Hop On/Hop Off bus tickets in afternoon one can use them a 2nd day as good for 24 hours! He'll tell you the best bus tour too! That's what we did later that afternoon as the sun came out. We circled the City then I used the ticket the next morning to go the Royal Botanical Gardens (which is free!) and then to the stop 1 block from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill factory store (just ask the driver - they know where it is) where a good cashmere sweater cost me less than I saw anywhere else. The bus was a GREAT way for me to do what I wanted while the other 2 went on a day tour to Stirling Castle.

Peter's tour is reasonable and money we'll spent!

You can find him at his website: www.edinburghsaintsandsinners.co.uk He is very responsive to inquiries! Highly recommend him!

Thank you again Peter,
Eleanor

“A Perfect Way to Meet Edinburgh”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Peter Hamilton's tour of Edinburgh Old and New was absolutely perfect for our group of 3 adults and 4 teens. The 2.5 hour tour was the perfect length and speed. Peter is a wonderful guide with interesting stories, legends, anecdotes and facts that kept everyone's interest. Peter is charming, entertaining, and incredibly informed, and we highly recommend any tour with him.

“Awesome tour of Edinburgh May 30, 2014”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

A fantastic tour of Edinburgh. We were a multigenerational family group of 6 - had only an afternoon and wanted to see as much as possible. Peter was the perfect answer. From his prompt response to my first inquiry, his help in designing the perfect tour for us to the tour itself - everything was amazing. He met us outside our hotel, gave us an overview of what we'd see and we were off. He told us the " inside stories" you don't learn in history books. We learned more history in an afternoon than I thought was possible. We had my 2 year old grandson with us and Peter did a great job of keeping him entertained also. I would highly recommend him for any tour of Edinburgh. Thank you Peter for sharing your knowledge and love of your city.

“Edinburgh old and new”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

We arrived in Edinburgh early afternoon after a train journey from Ely, Cambs. An hour later we were welcomed by a hearty, cheerful, kilted gentleman of a certain age and given an introduction to the city where we were to spend the next four days. For two hours we were kept entertained in an informative way about the history, culture and social fabric of the city over the centuries. Our erudite group, all third-agers, never managed to non-plus Peter with our enquiries, and we found that over the next few days everything else we learned fitted into the pattern he had given us. We certainly would not have found some of the recondite corners of the back alleys down which he led us. A great start to our trip.
