We had a beautiful day, and reaching the top of the hill and looking out over the city and Firth of Fourth was just amazing.

Came here recently while visiting with friends. Views are arguably better than Arthur's Seat, although I would recommend visiting both! Wonderful photo opportunities and a nice place to bring coffee on a mid-morning walk.

A short walk can bring you uphill to see the city of Edinburgh. You can also see the Parthenon, observatory and Nelson's monument here.

Calton Hill is located off Waterloo Place and is a slight hike up a hill. The place overlooks Edinburgh east of Princes Street and north of Hollyrood. The location boasts the best photo opportunity for shots of the city. There is no disabled ramp, only stairs. Consider climbing up Nelson's tower for even better views but it was closed in October when I visited.
