Fabulous city centre location for wedding venue, showing off Edinburgh and what an amazing, vibrant city it is. Great for guests to be able to walk up to George Street and visit historic sites in a matter of minutes. Also was great to have access to Gardens for wedding photographs. We held our wedding on 3rd of August and staff including Ayesha the wonderfully helpful wedding coordinator and Duty Managers went out their way to make our day extra special. The Princess Royal suite was perfect size for our wedding party, the food and wine excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend to those who want a city centre wedding to remember!Thank you again RSC, all your efforts were noticed and very much appreciated. P & JJ

We had to book at fairly late notice to get a room during the festival. We expected a premium rate but £256 for a room downstairs that was barely 3 star quality seemed more than a little steep. You don't pay too much more for the Gleneagles Hotel. It was a shame, because the place has a lot of character, the breakfast/dining area is nice and the location is great. The fact remains though, that if this hotel wants to charge 4 and 5 star rates then it has to provide the quality of accommodation that goes with these rates.

Room Tip: We only saw the room which we had, which was on the lower ground floor and should be avoided

We used the Royal Scot Club at the end of July 2013 to hold our wedding celebrations and it was a great success. Throughout the months of planning the Conference & Event Co-ordinator Ayesha Longley was on hand to assist, advice and support with all the fine details which in turn made it such a memorable day for my wife, friends & family. The setting is traditional and Scottish with great rooms food and service. Thank You and your team Ayesha for an unforgettable day.

There are a variety of rooms here - does feel a bit like you have gone back in time, Princess Anne has visited, says it all! On my first visit I was put in the annex out the back of the hotel - had to go to the basement and pass a vaulted ceilinged room - very spooky, but found myself in an 80's style room on the ground floor. I've never had breakfast here but have stayed in also the older part of the building at the front of the hotel - which had an amazing view and was very comfortable - if you do stay here - make sure you are in the main body of the hotel - well worth it - if nothing more but for the gorgeous view over the gardens in front.

Room Tip: Ask to be at the front of the hotel

After reading previous reviews about the 'basement rooms' I was slightly concerned when we were checked straight into one on arrival. But I had nothing to worry about. The room was great the decor was classic and well finished and the beds were very comfortable. The dining experience in the dining room and the comfort of the old bar were highlights. Despite the club being full of golfers (it was Open weekend) the staff were fantastic, helpful and as friendly as it gets. Class establishment and lots of fun for someone looking for a slightly old world experience.

After finally negotiating a few days away from our children, my husband and I chose to stay at the Royal Scots Club after hearing how good it was. We arrived to be greeted by a very happy and helpful lady at reception and walked through to our room which was the most characterful and relaxing we have stayed at so far. We stayed in rm 16 and found it to be roomy, fresh and clean. The use of original/ period pieces added to the feel of the room. I can't praise the cleaning staff enough, the was not a square millimetre that didn't gleam, they deserve awards for the UKs best and most conciencious. The staff at breakfast were helpful and friendly and provide a substantial breakfast to start your day. All in all we found the club to be a hidden beauty that we will return to again and again and we have advised our friends to book in too if they are ever in Edinburgh. If you are sick of all the modern identical functional rooms that you find in the vast majority of hotels, you will love a stay here. If you are in any doubt about staying here, just do it!!!

Room Tip: Rm 16 was large and quiet and a room I will stay in again.

We arrived at the club at short notice after having to move from our pre-arranged accommodation which was unsuitable. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful and within about 15 minutes had made up a room to meet our needs (sofa bed and extra pillows for child guest they weren't expecting).

The location was excellent - rooms great and an excellent breakfast to start the day. An extra tea cup and extra milk were brought up our room on request with no fuss.

I would def. recommend this hotel & would consider staying again when we return to Edinburgh in future.

Our taxi driver also spoke very highly of the club as ex Scots military who had attended a number of functions at the club!

Room Tip: We had room 8 for two adults and a child which was more than satisfactory.
