The Royal Scots Club is a true gem in the heart of Edinburgh but in a discreet location away from the noise and a very reasonable price. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious with good ensuite facilities. The breakfast is very good too. We stayed here over the weekend for the Edinburgh Festival and as it is only a short walk from Queen Street, it provided ideal accommodation. We did have some very loud guests on the Saturday evening (until 3.30am) whom I do feel could have been asked to be more quiet - but the hotel cannot be held responsible for rude and ill-bred individuals. In summary, I would highly recommend this hotel. It is small and compact but very grand and welcoming. Will stay here again when I visit Edinburgh next.

Room Tip: Room 21 is lovely. It was the same cost as our room but twice the size.

Lovely old charming building. My room was in one of the lower basement levels toward the street, however very quiet. The room was quite big with a spacious bathroom, comfy bed, great water pressure and tea/coffee making facilities. I was due to check out very early the next morning and would not have made breakfast however reception arranged for breakfast to my room when I woke up. Greatly appreciated! Very close to edinburgh George street and old town.

This is set in a very pretty street. The service, breakfast etc were very good. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is charming. Hubby slept no problem. If however you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you unless you can guarantee a room to the rear. The traffic noise is very loud and it is a busy city road. There was also a lot of noise from people outside. I resorted to putting the duvets in the bath and lay there for some peace!!!!

Room Tip: Friends had no problems at the rear of the hotel

We stayed at The Royal Scots Club on the first four nights of our golfing vacation to Scotland. The hotel is well staffed and well appointed. The breakfasts that were included were spot-on. This hotel is in a lovely location, across the street from a large, private park. It is easy to walk to just about anywhere you would like to go in Edinburgh--although you need to be able to walk up and down the hills of the town. We had a lovely stay here and would stay here again.
