I have stayed at this hotel twice now. The room are very nicely kept with good facilities. Hotel has really nice relaxing ambience. The breakfast is exceptional, cold buffet has a good selection, cooked breakfast very tasty and the best porridge around!!

Well done to the staff at Channings for making my mother's 90th birthday bash so enjoyable. Dining room was warm and comfortable, food was lovely and service charming and efficient, despite us running late to start with. All ages, from 3 months to 90 accommodated for!

I recently stayed at Channings for three nights whilst in Edinburgh on business. Having stayed in lots of 'Corporate Boxes' I long for hotels with some individuality. Channings certainly offered that. The hotel is in keeping with its Georgian past, making the most of the grand proportions yet offering privacy in little corners and sitting rooms, most with open fires. The bar and restaraunt are excellent offereing a good range of Celtic produce (and they are both used by the local neighbours), the Scots now a good thing when they see it.
My room was lovely, large beds, a dressing room and huge bathroom with all the mod cons you could want. (I didn't get chance to use the whirlpool bath though)
The staff were friendly, most of them locals, and they couldn't do enough for you. All in all, a very pleasant stay. I'll be booking in every time I'm in Edinburgh

Channings is a little bit of luxury in Edinburgh. Set back in a quiet part of the city, yet a short walk from the heart of the city. A great place to chill out after a hard days shopping, with it's welcoming fire and friendly staff

Room Tip: The cost of an upgrade to a room with a bigger bathroom is well worth it, as a soak in a free standi...

This is a tastefully decorated 4 star hotel with very attentive staff. We had a large, clean, elegantly decorated room with a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was served in the large light conservatory and there was a great selection to choose from. Bar prices were very reasonable especially compared to city centre establishments. We walked into Princes Steet in 15 minutes and Leith Walk in 25 minutes. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

A lovely hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the quest room for my boyfriend's birthday. It was a fantastic room, the bathroom is gorgeous with a marvellous bath and shower. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious with lots of options. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it's a lovely location, the staff are great and it offers good value for money. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra for a superior room, it's well worth it for the gorgeous bathroom!

My wife and I stayed for a romantic weekend there from 17 January 2013 to 20th January 2013. The room was excellent - not the standard boring hotel room. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day.
