Excellent hotel has a lovely feel to it as soon as you walk through the doors with very tasteful decor. All the staff are lovely so helpful & obliging nothing was too much trouble. Has a very good bar & restaurant facility & the food quality & choice are excellent at reasonable prices.
Is in a good setting down a nice quiet road in a residencial area over looking private gardens & the view of an old traditional school in the background. The location is around a 10 -15 minute walk from the top of Princes Street, is on a uphill incline in places but not difficult along as you are reasonable fit & able bodied. The local buses no's 19,36,37 run from the top of the Street that will take you to Waverley Bridge where all the tour buses operate from. These are a great way of getting to see the city & finding your bearings they offer a number of different ticket deals. But if you are there for a few days i recommned the Royal ticket which gives you unlimited travel for 2 days & your entrance tickets to The Castle, The Royal Yacht Britannia & also Holyrood Palace very good value for money.More
