“Another great stay”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

We just love this hotel. It's location is ideal just to stroll through the meadows and into town, just down the road is the excellent Lemongrass Thai restaurant and Bruntsfield itself has numerous bars and restaurants to dine out in. A good nights sleep, great showers and a delicious breakfast.
Cost lounges just to chill in with free wi fi make it a very relaxing city break. Many thanks to all the team.

We had a very nice stay in the hotel during the fringe festival.
Rooms were fine, breakfast was very good and service was excellent (the young asian lady was very helpfull).
Rooms are not cheap, but comparing to other places in Scotland during high season well worth it.

This hotel is situated at a perfect location; easy car access and on walking distance from Edinburg center. Our room was very noisy though. We could hear the television in the room of our neighbour and during the night we were kept awake by shutting doors.
Since I consider the hotel as very expensive, I believe this is a lot if money for what you get in return. Next time I will consider a B&B.
Breakfast is good. Reastaurant is good. Both according to what you can expect from a hotel like this, both not super, but just good.

Dear Sandy5611,

Thank you for your recent review following your recent stay with us. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I am disappointed that your stay was negativly afected by the noise from your neighbour's television and the constant closing of doors. The maintenance team have since lowered the volume levels on all the televisions and adjusted door closers. Thank you for bringing these points to my attention.

During August, Edinburgh hosts several cultural festivals including the world's largest arts festival which does make the city very busy. Like all busy cities, hotel prices reflect this however we monitor our prices and are satisfied that they are very competitive indeed compared with other similar hotels in the city. We always realise that we must provide our guests with good value and we therefore acknowledge and appreciate your comments to enable us to make improvements. Once again thank you for your valued review.

Your sincerely,

Russell Imrie

We wanted to stop over on our way South having spent a week in the Highlands. The Bruntsfield was fab. Our family room was enormous! Room service was great and location was ideal for exploring Edinburgh. I wish we could have stayed longer - we will definitely be back.

Stayed here with another couple during The Open at Muirfield. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, and assisted us with a smile and kindness. Our room was very, very large, with a comfortable king bed and large bath. There was an extra little sitting room off to the side for relaxing. We had plenty of room to move around with our large luggage cases and golf clubs. We easily walked to the big attractions in Edinburgh and enjoyed several nearby restaurants for dinner. ...we even manage to play 23 holes of free golf at the pitch and putt in the large park across the street. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: I would recommend either room we stayed in...102 or 124 with the king sized beds. Out friends loved...

This place really made our trip. We had a suite with a huge bathroom, sitting area and a very comfortable king size bed. It was the first night we'd ever stayed in Scotland and to walk in and see a tartan blanket on the bed with matching curtains was pretty cool. We spent four nights there and loved it. The front desk staff were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Our package included breakfast which was nice and the cooked breakfast menu was quite big. We were packing croissants, one morning for our day trip and the waitress saw us and we thought we might be in trouble but she asked if she could wrap it for us. Edinburgh castle, the Royal Mile, Greyfriars Bobby, Mary Kings Close, and more, are all within walking distance. Princes Street was also close and the city bus service was easy and convienient. The Internet connection was also good. We definitely recommended this and will definitely return ourselves.
