Was training in Edinburgh so stayed overnight in this hotel. It's an old hotel but still quiet and comfortable. Free wifi which was at times intermittent. Rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. Lack of a lift maybe a drawback for some people who are less mobile. Breakfast was good and plentiful and did get busy on one of the days. Dinner was good and very tasty. Bar prices were reasonable for a hotel. The staff are an asset they were all very friendly and lets just say some guests were a bit awkward. I would definately return.

Dear lesleyforest

Thank you for your review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

Your comments will be circulated around the team, who will pleased that they left a lasting impression on you.

Our breakfast certainly is a highlight of any of our guest's stays, as it sets you up for a day of business, travel or of course exploring.

I was puzzled by your comment about a lack of a lift, as we do in fact have a guest lift which is accessible from the reception to all room floors.

We hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

Kind regards,

Mark Lambson

Our third time at the hotel, this time as a family gathering for our son's wedding. Ever since our room reservations were made 10 months previously, support and service from the staff has been first class (Thank you Fiona). We stayed for 3 nights in a Superior room which was well equiped and of a good size. Location is great, with great access to the city centre either by public transport or a 20/30 minute stroll through the meadows. The Meadows / Links on the opposite side of the road provided an excellent location for a family picnic given the excellent weather. Breakfast was plentiful and of a very good quality with the main course served fresh to your table. The bar area is pleasant and excellent for gatherings to pass away the evening. The only downside is the size of the car park but all family members were catered for as they arrived at various times across the three days. Would definately stay again if the need arises.

Dear ChrisH5758

Thank you for reviewing BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

Fiona will be over the moon with the mention. The team do their utmost to provide a superior service from every facet of the hotel.

It was a pleasure hosting your party over this period, and we are happy to hear that all went well.

The location of the hotel is ideal for most, being away from the noise and hustle of the city centre, whilst being parallel to the Bruntsfield Links. Walking on a sunny day is certainly a great way to travel to the attractions, and main shopping areas. Should we have that very rare Scottish rain, then the bus route is conveniently located.

We will pass on your comments about breakfast to the team. We take great pride in the fact that our hot breakfasts are cooked to order.

We hope to welcome you back again the near future.

Kind regards,

Mark Lambson

Pre wedding get together. Excellent 2 night stay at the Bruntsfield Hotel. Welcoming and high standards of customer service. Super accommodation and breakfast. Situation opposite Bruntsfield links was perfect for relaxing in the sunshine - close to City with excellent transport links. Not many Car parking spaces and some a little narrow for guests with larger vehicles - not us - once parked we were reluctant to move cars till we had to leave.

Highly recommended

Dear ardgowan2015

Thank you for your recent review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

We were very happy to accommodate your party at the hotel, and from all accounts it seems that it was an excellent visit to Edinburgh, and that the celebration went well.

We are certainly well positioned with the Bruntsfield Links being across the road. During those very common sunny days it can be quite a setting.

We hope to welcome you back again soon.

24 of us stayed here as a family and we had a great time even though we were only here 1 night. The car park is small, but we all managed to get our cars in! Whilst the hotel is not as central as some would like [the bus stop is very handy, so what's the problem?], we weren't here to be tourists, just to meet up as a pre wedding party. We all arrived in dribs and drabs, and had a party/picnic in the park which is across the road from the hotel.
The room we had [143] was a good size and looked out over the beer garden. There were 2 comfortable chairs and a table as well as the usual dressing table. The bathroom was nice and bright and just as my wife said we were short of a hand and bath towel they arrived with a polite young man who apologized for them not being there and he hoped we would enjoy the rest of our day. He wasn't British but his English was very good. There were plenty of shelves and drawers for clothes and a decent safe in the wardrobe.
Reception was fast and efficient, both arriving and leaving, and this area of the hotel itself is nice enough just to sit and read and watch the world go by on the busy road. We ate out early and then came back. The bar downstairs was big enough for us all, but we had a drink in the beer garden first. It was 9.00 and we were told we would have to move inside at 10.00. Only a slight inconvenience for us but a good thing for the residents who wanted a quiet early night.
We would use this hotel again if we came back to Edinburgh.

Dear Rhagnar

Thank you for your review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

It is always a pleasure to read such a detailed review of guest's stays. We use all the information relayed to better our service, and identify necessary improvements.

It was a pleasure hosting your party last week, and what a glorious few days that we had so that you could make use of the Links across from us, and of course our hidden secret - the beer garden. Unfortunately as you mention, we only have the beer garden open until 22.00 which is most cases is certainly fine, but with that glorious weather we had I can understand the reluctance to leave.

Your review will bring many a smile today in the hotel, and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Lambson
