Chose this hotel as it was near but not in the city centre, close enough to walk from Waverley station, & is serviced by a direct bus route into the city.
Nice quite location opposite a great park which you can walk through nearly into the centre.
Located not far from the Grassmarket ideal for a night out.
Great room , spotlessly clean with a large bathroom & great shower.
Great restaurant & bar.
The breakfast was very good with a great selection from the grill menu.
The staff were all very professional & helpful, nothing was any trouble.
Will certainly return in the future.
This would be a great hotel for a stay with the family.

Stayed here for 1 night on a 2 day visit to Edinburgh, The hotel is in walking distance of Waverley station & is serviced by a direct bus route into the city. A great location for sightseeing & being not in the centre it is nice & quiet ensuring a good nights sleep. The bar is very modern & although I did not dine in the restaurant it looked very welcoming. I had booked a single room & was delighted to have been allocated a double, which was very clean & well ventilated. A very comfortable bed & a terrific shower made my short stay a pleasure.

Dear Stupotran

Thank you for your recent review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

I was unsure which of your two reviews to respond to, so please excuse my assumption that this post would be best.

As mentioned in previous reviews, our location is ideal for those not wanting to be in the hustle and bustle of the city centre. That said we are only a short walk for the city centre, and with the bus route conveniently located within a stone’s throw away.
1We do hope that on your next visit you will be able to dine in Bisque, our restaurant, and be able to review that as well.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind regards,

Mark Lambson

A friendly traditional hotel with good food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was in easy walking distance of Princes Street and the Royal Mile. Parking limited but we did find a spot each time. Would happily visit again.

Dear Anne J

Thank you for reviewing BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

Our location certainly does benefit those wishing to explore the city, yet at the end of the day wish to escape the hustle and bustle.

Our free parking is certainly an added bonus, but as you mention it is limited, so it is on a first come first serve basis.

We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Kind regards,

Mark Lambson

Was training in Edinburgh so stayed overnight in this hotel. It's an old hotel but still quiet and comfortable. Free wifi which was at times intermittent. Rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. Lack of a lift maybe a drawback for some people who are less mobile. Breakfast was good and plentiful and did get busy on one of the days. Dinner was good and very tasty. Bar prices were reasonable for a hotel. The staff are an asset they were all very friendly and lets just say some guests were a bit awkward. I would definately return.

Dear lesleyforest

Thank you for your review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Bruntsfield Hotel.

Your comments will be circulated around the team, who will pleased that they left a lasting impression on you.

Our breakfast certainly is a highlight of any of our guest's stays, as it sets you up for a day of business, travel or of course exploring.

I was puzzled by your comment about a lack of a lift, as we do in fact have a guest lift which is accessible from the reception to all room floors.

We hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

Kind regards,
