3 female adults....we were in the master suite...location of the hotel is fantastic...about 20 mins walk to the Royal mile. Jazz festival was fun at the Hub which is also along the royal mile. Staff were very helpful during our stay. Had no problems with early check-in. Room was lovely and spacious and clean. Considering that it is only a Best Western, we surely felt that we got quite a lot for what we paid in terms of comfort and ease.

Stayed here during a recent tour of Scotland. Fab hotel, reception staff the best, rooms great, bar and restaurant excellent. A bit of a walk into the centre but should not deter you sampling the comforts. Would surely stay here again.

Very impressive hotel, we got a twin room for £80 with last min booking on the internet. It was very big and everywhere was really clean. The breakfast selection was great, and really good quality food. Slightly out of the centre but easy short taxi ride in. Very helpfull reception staff, booked us a taxi and it turned up straight away. Wonderful view of the castle from our room as well.

We stayed her 26/28th. On entering the receptionist looked at my husband and suggested we must have the wrong hotel (obviously did not realise that you need to tie long hair back when driving!!!) a bad start. It appeared that they had the room under my name for some unknown reason. By this time hubby was a bit cross and used his full titles when asked what his name was. Parking was limited and we were lucky to find a space in the actual car park.
Next the elevator was broken (it did not break on 31st as previous poster was told it - had been broken since before we arrived ). Our room 221 was huge and so was the bathroom. Both were spotless and we had a good view of the castle from our dormer window.
It took me about 20 min to walk to Princes Street. There is a very good Thai resteraunt (Lemongrass) about 100 metres towards the town. The breakfast was o'k but on the second day they had begun to clear things away almost half an hour before the breakfast service was due to end.
The bed was comfortable and our room (at the back) was quiet. As we left I asked for assistance with finding a phone number. 2 receptionists could not manage this but fortunately the porter came along and he knew what to do. This hotel needs to assess the training of it's reception staff and needs to get the elevator fixed.

We chose this hotel partly because it's Best Western (and I have loyalty points to use!), but also because of the excellent reviews that we'd read (there are other BW Hotels we could have chosen in Edinburgh). This was our 5th Wedding Anniversary trip (working our way thru the alphabet, E=Edinburgh), and the Bruntsfield was perfect for our trip. We were given a huge room on the 2nd floor, overlooking the city and the Firth of Forth to the north. Well appointed with very nice bathroom, and very quiet, contrary to a couple of other reviews on here (but could be our room was at the back). Breakfast was great every day, and we ate in Bisque one evening and found it very good. Location is good - a little way out from the centre, but a very pleasant walk across "The Meadows" gets you straight into the Old Town, or a bus from the stop 50 yards from the Hotel will take you into the centre. Edinburgh buses are remarkable value at only £3 for an all day pass. Overall we were delighted with the Hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, the only downside was that the lift broke down the day we arrived and was still out of order when we left - didn't affect us as, thankfully, we are fit and healthy and can manage the stairs, but would have been awkward if not. Overall would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Good location not far from the castle and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the king sized bed was more like a giant concave marshmallow and not conducive to a good sleep. The addition of slamming doors down the hall was not helpful. Off-street parking is extremely limited and probably best for small cars. I suggest the addition of a business center with a computer and printer. As the carrier of a small hand-held, it would have been helpful to have access to a computer.

This is the second time I've stayed here, the first one being over a year ago, and standards are still as good. It's unusual to find a large hotel so close to the city centre with free parking, and the surrounding area is brimming with restaurants, bars, cinemas and the odd theatre.
I was given a surprise upgrade to a first floor suite, which was enormous and had a newly fitted bathroom which was fabulous.
Flat screen tv, smellies, free wi-fi, lots of drinks sachets, lovely bedding - it was excellent.
