Spent just the one night here - lovely welcoming reception with a roaring fire even at the end of May! Very handy for Waverley Station and the centre of town but right next to Calton Hill and a couple of parks so fresh air on the doorstep. Very quiet when I was staying but staff in restaurant friendly and food tasty. One minor quibble is that the kettle etc was hidden away in a drawer and there was no milk once I did find the tea.

Great location - breakfasts and dinner were yummy. Rod at the desk was helpful and charming and a great asset to the hotel. Comfortable rooms - very clean and quiet. Loved both the full Scottish and continental breakfasts.

Warm, small, cozy and a great restaurant. Easy walk from downtown. Great lobby bar and wonderful staff. Lovely side street location but our street-facing room was a bit noisy with the window open. (2 AM pub crawlers sounded like).

The Parliament house Hotel is conveniently located near Prince's Street and New Town. The reception area is warm and inviting, with a fire going, and comfortable seating. You can purchase a drink in the reception area as well. The room was a good size, the bathroom fixtures were modern, all of the décor was very nice. The restaurant is okay, probably the weakest aspect of the hotel, but still adequate. I found the staff very helpful. There is an elevator, the rooms are modern, and the beds are fine. There is a strong wifi signal in the room, which I really appreciated.

Room Tip: Get one of the modern rooms on the four bottom floors and avoid the very top floors unless you like...

The good; clean, spacious rooms, a little worn, but not too bad. Breakfast was decent cooked to order. Very good location.
The bad; PARKING! We arrived after a 6 hour drive. The desk clerk was in a bad mood. Apparently he couldn't wait to leave. His explanation of where to park was, short, and exasperating. I asked him for a clearer description, to no avail. Two right turns and into the lot. Well, needless to say, I ended up across the street from where I supposed to go. Therefore, I had to pay full price, no hotel discount. The hotel made NO, ZERO, NADA, attempt to rectify the cost. I did get a half hearted, sorry.
