We found the Parliament House Hotel to have a great location and a really friendly staff. God value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back! Recommended!

thought hotel was clean and in good position for shops and sights. Staff very friendly and welcoming. however parking is a bit of a problem if you come in your car.

We received a warm welcome at this hotel, the lounge area was cosy with a roaring fire, which was great as the weather was quite bad at the time. It was an easy 5 minute walk from Waverly train station and the Playhouse theatre. The room was on the small side with quite a large armchair taking up space, it would have been ideal if it had been bigger with 2 armchairs to relax in. Bathroom could have done with some updating. The bed was very comfy and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good although service was slightly rushed if you go towards end of service. We enjoyed a nice meal at Guilianos and upon our return to the hotel we sat in the lounge and enjoyed a pre-bedtime drink.

Thought this looked a conveniant hotel for sightseeing Edinburgh - which in fairness it was. The location is great, however our room was definately sub standard. To get to it - take a lift to the 3rd floor - turn left - down a narrow corridor - through a door and two flights of stairs - a spiral staircase no more! Great with two large suitcases! The room was small - the television was out of the arc and the trouser press fell to bits when we tried to use it.
Don't bother with the cooked breakfast unless you are very hungry and don't mind about quality. The bacon - 1 rasher - was very salty, the sausage was indescribable - of unknown origin - i egg - and half a tomato - all for £6.50.... not good vfm. As i said ... probably worth spending a few quid more!

Parliament House Hotel is a good value hotel with good food and friendly staff. It is very near the station and Princes Street. Access to both the Old Town and the New Town is easy. No on-street parking, but then the best way to visit Edinburgh is to arrive by public transport. The shortest route from Waverley station is to use the Calton Hill Road exit, turn left and then right into Calton Hill. This avoids crossing busy roads, but the last 100m up Calton Hill is quite steep. Average walking time about 5 minutes.

A 3 star hotel but better then some 4 stars we have stayed in. Breakfast cooked fresh to order & excellant choice. Some reviews said a long wait but we didn't find this, service was quick. We had 2 rooms, 401 & 405. Both good but 401 was better as bigger, better view & warmer with radiator in bathroom as well as bedroom ( 405 only had 1 in bedroom & it was quite cold). Nice to have shower & bath & complimentary toiletries. Right in the city centre only 5 mins from train station. Very quiet as down a little cobbled hill near Calton Hill so no noise on a night( approach the hotel from Waterloo Place as easier to find & not as steep.)

I was on a short break to Edinburgh City and was pleasantly pleased to have chosen the Parliament House hotel.
It is very well located, central to most of the sights, attractions, shops,...
It can be a short, but steep hike up to the hotel, however better to enter by the far end of Princess street.
It's a nice quaint area, cobble stoned street and was quiet. Quiet and yet so very close to the action !!
There is a very 'warm and inviting' area surrounding reception. Nice place to relax and sit by the fireside, read a paper,....
The building seems to make a good effort, to preserve it's interior, in keeping with the older traditional (suppose outdated) styling of the period.
It was homely.
My en-suite room, when I eventually reached it !, had all I needed. It was warm, comfortable and clean.
It was just a bit of a maze, trying to find my room at first !, but thats no big issue.
Breakfast was filling and the served cooked part of it, was adequate enough in terms of both quantity and taste quality.,
One comment, perhaps a touch negative, that I must express, is that when I am visiting a particular country, I quite enjoy Experiencing their Own Unique Cultures, ways of life, etc, at every possible opportunity !
Bearing this minor detail, in mind, I do sence that some of the staff, may not have been all of Scottish origin. ( Not too confusing, when Away on your travels, to a particular country )
However this certainly does not detract too much, from the efficient service provided at Parliament house hotel.
Everything else was help yourself, self-service, and lots to choose from. You will not go hungry.
Coffee was real and delicious ! and is not always the case in various hotels.
The Scottish lady at reception was also noticeably pleasant and helpfull.
Parliament house hotel gets my favourable - Yes vote. I would have no hesitation returning to this property. It was great value in my reckoning.
I was indeed a satisfied guest and would have to nod, aye, I would go back there.
