“Great views of the Castle”
Reviewed 11 July 2011

Our check-in girl, Emma, was so helpful. She ensured all our needs were met with information provided on the hotel, eating places, sight seeing and parking. Room was fabulous with a great view of Edinburgh Castle. Hop-on, hop-off bus was located right outside the hotel. Although the hotel itself does not have parking available, you can get discounted parking on the next block at the sister hotel, the Apex International. Would recommend this hotel for their professionalism, their rooms and their location.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with a view of Edinburgh Castle.

Stayed in one of the castle view one bedroom suites for a special occasion and was not disappointed. Very nice rooms of a good size and very modern decor and fittings. All well maintained.
The hotel is in a very good location in the old town within a stones throw of the castle and a short walk to the royal mile. Right on the grassmarket though which can be a tad noisy at times as there are a few busy bars nearby.

This hotel was great, staff was friendly, very helpful. The breakfast a bit expensive, but it was good. Now the dinner we had there wasn't as great, but great restaurants just across the hotel. Bathroom was clean, could use an update. The bedroom floor was not the cleanest but we also have a 2 year old, so the floor is never clean either way. The provided a crib and bedding at no extra charge.

Very convenient location, close to everything in downtown. Swimming Pool and Gym are not at the same building but very close (100m).
WiFi works everywhere within the hotel.
Will stay there again although it is a bit overpriced.

We stayed one night in the Apex City. The location is absolutely stunning. Right in the heart of downtown Edinburgh with a view of the Castle directly on the hill above the hotel. Our room only had a view of the side cement wall, but directly out front of the hotel is a large popular square with several great restaurants and bars. Just up the street is the entrance to the castle which is fabulous. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Especially Craig (one of the night staff) as he helped us print out our directions for the next day and brought up a fan (since there is not air conditioning and it reached a record 80 degrees Fahrenheit that day) etc. We got the "to go" breakfast which was easy and tasty. They share a gated car park with their sister Apex (international?) hotel which is literally 2 buildings down. The car park is right next to this hotel, but the walk is extremely short. Overall our stay was wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the castle
