“It's a lovely place, with high standards for either a quick snack or a leisurely lunch.”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

A Taste of Italy is a lovely little cafe, the menu offers a wide selection of dishes, from pasta to pizza, to desserts, at excellent prices, with pasta dishes being around £5-6. There is a takeaway option as well if you'd prefer not to sit in.

I just popped in for a slice of cake on a break from a day of shopping. The staff were lovely, friendly and very efficient.

The cake was delicious and was around £3 ( as I had cream too ) , and I look forward to revisiting and giving their pasta dishes a try. Since the cafe is part of the Vittoria group, I am sure it will be of an excellent standard.

If your looking for an Italian meal but don't want to spend too much money on it, or if your just wanting a quick break from a long day of shopping - pay a visit to Taste of Italy. I reccomend you give it a try.

So glad that you found Taste and enjoyed a well deserved break after a long day of shopping.

Thank you for your kind review. We are also open for breakfast and serve the best Italian coffee on the Walk, in addition to Vittoria, of course.

Kind regards,

Angela Crolla

“Very good amounts!”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

Me and my boyfriend were visiting Edinburgh recently, and on our way to our hotel, we walked by this place. At first, we thought that it would be a "fast-food" (rather "junk-food") place. We couldn't be more wrong! We decided to try to have breakfast at the place for being close to our hotel, we then found out it was not like we had imagined. We even decided to have dinner that same day... Best idea EVER! They had a wide offer in the menu, and we chose pasta carbonara and pizza calzone to share. Very nice from the staff to offer us to split the amounts and serve them ready, so we accepted. The pasta was delicious, and so was the calzone, and as I said, the quantity of food was great! This was real italian food made by italian people.
The staff was very kind and prices are acceptable :)
Highly recommended!

So pleased that you trusted your instincts and tried our restaurant. It is a fast paced cafe but we never rush our diners. It is a compliment that you came back again and again.

Thank you for your kind review.

“Great lunch”

Smoked salmon pasta delicious, generous serving, pizza ditto. Coffee big cups, good and strong. Service friendly and efficient, prices very reasonable, no wonder it's always busy. Give it a try.

“Fantastic value and delicious food”
Reviewed 26 March 2013

We were just passing by after driving into Edinburgh as the place looked like a casual diner, which was just what we wanted. We were shown to our table straight away and looked after really well. I ordered pasta with chicken, sugo, courgettes and gorgonzola. What can I say, absolutely gorgeous food, only sorry I couldn't try another of the dishes straight away! Pizza looked lovely too. And tea came in a pot - anything else is a crime in my book. Great value and service.

“Excellent service and great food!!”
Reviewed 17 March 2013 via mobile

Came accross taste of Italy this Sunday afternoon as we could not find fish and chip takeaway open anywhere. Service was five star! Food gorgeous and very taste! Friendly attentive and smiley staff! Partner ordered cabonora, very flavoursome and filling. I ordered bolognaise pizza which was not on menu. Very tastey. Toffee profiteroles cheesecake to die for! I would defo go back and prices are good. You can tell the food is authentic family run and not heavily commercialised compared to the restaurants next door. Very impressive.
