we dont normally write reviews but my husband and i spent a night here for our 1st wedding anniversary and the service we recieved here madeus want to write our first review. we stayed in an executive room which was stunning and very luxurious bathroom complete with tv was great. the staff at hotel were extremely polite and warm and friendly we were given a complimentary bottle of champagne and card to celebrate our anniversary which we were blown away by the kind thoughtlful gesture.
we had a delicious meal in the gorgeous brassarie restaurant where service and menu was impecable. i feel this restaurant is extremely good value for the high quality of food offered and served.
we will never forget this hotel experience and thank everyone for making it a wonderful night for us.

Congratulations on your 1st Wedding anniversary and thank you for spending it at Norton House. I am delighted that my team was able to help you have a wonderful night. I will make sure that my staff are made aware of your kind comments. Thank you also for your lovely comments about our Brasserie. The ethos of our Brasserie is that we want to serve "food that people want to eat" at reasonable prices.

I hope that we will see you again at Norton House and, hopefully, be able to help you celebrate many more anniversaries in the future.

Kind regrads

I love this place. Service fantastic, rooms great (love the TV in the bathroom!). Food was amazing. Spa is also great, and the gym is well equipped.

Can't fault it (other than no mobile phone reception!). Will be back for sure

Has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Coming into the area around the hotel I was getting very worried, as it seemed to be in the middle of an industrial estate and very near the motorway and airport, but when you go down the drive it's like you enter another world and are actually in the middle of a quiet secluded park! Never heard any noise from the roads or airport and the whole thing was surrounded by really nice grounds and gardens.

We booked a classic double, but I think we may have been upgraded to an executive double as the room was extremely nice (even better if this wasn't an upgrade!).

The staff all seemed very friendly and helpful - as soon as we arrived someone was telling the best ways to get into Edinburgh etc.

Choice of two restaurants, although we only ate in the brasserie which was good - if a bit expensive.

Finally worth mentioning was the Spa, which had a great pool and was generally a nice place to go, all very modern and clean.

If I go back to Edinburgh I will definitely stay here again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a lovely review of our hotel following your stay with us earlier in September. We are very grateful for all feedback and the team get very encouraged by reviews such as yours.

There are two entrances to the hotel. One is from the A8 and the other is from Harvest Road. You obviously arrived via the latter and I can understand your comments. The other entrance is prettier and leads guests up our main, tree-lined, drive. Like you, I am always surprised how quiet and secluded the hotel feels even though we are so close to the Airport and the motorway network. We really are not disturbed by noise at all.

I am glad that you enjoyed your meal in the Brasserie and hopefully on your next visit you might enjoy our 3 Rosette restaurant, Ushers. It really is worth trying.

Thank you again for you kind comments. I look forward to welcoming you back to Norton House in the future.

Kind regards

R MacKay

This is our third visit to this hotel and things only get better.
From the time you walk in the front door you are greeted with a smile and welcome, the staff are very friendly and are always willing to go that extra mile for you.
On arrival we were shown to our room which was excellent in every way. The spa facilities are great and if you love swimming this is the place to go, as it is a very relaxing environment.
At the night time we booked the restaurant for our evening meal and the food was out of this world again if you love steak or salmon this i would recommend off the menu. There is alot of variety of different dishes on the menu so there is something for everybody's taste.
In the mornings of our stay we had a beautiful scottish breakfast which was first class and the staff made you very welcome and looked after you all the time nothing was to much trouble for them.

Overall this hotel is one not to be missed we will be back!!!

We booked a special 2 night package from the website for our anniversary. This included champagne, canapes and a 3 course dinner in the Brasserie on the first night. It was well worth the money and considering the level of the food and service, good value for money.
Fron the moment you check in, the staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We had executive rooms with a terrace. The rooms were lovely, spacious and had all amenities you would require. Special touches like the TV in the bathroom make it out of the ordinary. Our meal was so good. No supplements for the food as you get in some hotels wih this type of package either!. We used the spa a couple of times and it is very nice too. We would return here again for a special weekend away without a doubt.
