Just had a one night stopover at the Learmonth Travelodge to take in day one of the Edinburgh festival.. Beautiful Georgian building in a lovely Edinburgh Georgian terrace. Hopped on a bus to get to it from Waverley Station (no 41) and got off two stops after Dean Bridge. Bus driver shouted to advise when I got there! Clean and welcoming room with huge, comfy bed. Loved the floor to ceiling windows with sheer flowing net curtains at the window. Quite palatial! A slight bit of noise from the road but nothing that bothers...you are in a city after all!.Caught the no. 19 bus (£1.50 single or £3.50 for all day travel)) to get back to Princes Street. Even saw some fireworks going off from my window over the Castle at 11.30p.m. It was the practice Military Tattoo show! Pleasant receptionist. Stay here with confidence...away from the hullaballoo of the city centre in festival time.

The travelodge was located within a 20 minutes walk of the train station and was very easy to get to, down some straight roads - if walking. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive, we asked for extra towels and hairdryers at the desk and they obliged happily. The rooms are big and spacious and extremely clean upon arrival. Great value for money, would truly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Edinburgh. Having read lots of reviews We were a little unsure of what to expect. We arrived at the hotel around 10am and could leave our luggage. Check in was quick and we were directed to our room. The room itself was huge! It didn't lack furniture, but definitely lacked a drawer. The bathroom was clean but dated. The shower gel dispenser was empty during the stay. Room was cleaned and beds made on the 2nd day.
Breakfast is served buffet style on the lower ground. Choice of cereals, yogurts, toast and cooked. Wasn't a huge choice of fruit etc compared to Premier Inn breakfasts.
On check out we could leave our luggage again as our flight wasn't until the evening.
The hotel is situated just off Queensferry Road with a bus stop just through a walk way in the hedge. Buses are regular until around 6.30pm and are then far and few between. Most evenings we walked back as it was only a 10/15 min walk from the main Princes Street. We got a family day travel pass (£7.50) which meant you could use any Lothian bus or city centre tram, going out to the airport was extra.
We recommend this hotel and will stay here again next time we visit Edinburgh.

This was our second time in this hotel we choose it in Edinburgh mainly because the bus stop is right outside the hotel.
Being an old building converted to hotel use there are many compromises in the conversion but it suited us just fine.
Very clean comfortable beds and great staff we found nothing to complain about.

The hotel is a short approximately one and a half miles from the city centre. The hotel is on a bus route and Lothian buses sell a £3.50 ticket which allows unlimited journeys for a day. This also includes trams but only to the stop before the airport.
We stayed in room two which is quite large but with limited furniture. Apart from the double bed there was one chair and a small desk. The bathroom was accessed via a staircase.
The room was clean, the breakfast was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely use the hotel again.
