Stayed 4 nights in a double for 32 pound a night. Reception service was friendly. Room was adequate, nothing to complain about at all. Not 5 stars but thats not what you are paying for. We had Wi Fi in the room (we were on ground floor). Everything worked ok, TV was fine, hot water and shower were good, heater ok, bed was comfortable and linen good. Location is close to city centre, an easy 10 minute walk. Though hotel not exactly very close to anything in particular. Overall one of the better budget hotels we've stayed in. I would recommend it.

I've been on a 5-days holiday in Edinburgh and booked a single room in this hotel.
Room price is cheap considering the high prices of edinburgh living.
Breakfast is well rich: at the time there was only continental breakfast.
Service was fine and people at the reception had been very gentle and helpful.
The room was clean.
The hotel is located in a quiet street and the town centre can be reached with a 10 min foot walk.

Stayed in this place for night in Oct. Located in a row of houses, so this is a B&B kinda accommodation and not really a hotel. It’s got a wee bar and lounge.
Was given Room 108 which was a room in basement with 2 single beds. Room was clean and carpets are fine. Comfortable beds. Small tv was fine. Good bathroom. Continental breakfast was fine. Service from reception to waiter was fine. A bit of noise from cleaners during cleaning but lasts a short period. The location is good, 5 mins walk to the omni centre mall and John Lewis or less than 10 to Princes street. Plenty of corner shops, restaurants in walking distance. There is also a bus stop at the end of street of the hotel if u need it. I would recommend this place for budget travellers, at 35/night/person this is a place worth staying.

Well, Edinburgh is not cheap generally, and the rate we secured for a really enjoyable weekend break was very competetive. Handy for the city centre/airport bus- only a few minutes walk. Unfortunately no record of our booking on arrival but no problem, Sandy was very helpful in sorting us out a decent double room in the annex opposite. Surprisingly ( and pleasantly ) quiet for being so close to city centre. Everything you could expect for the price- clean room, comfy bed, decent en suite with toiletries & towels, TV, tea/coffee in room, nice bar, continental breakfast. OK the place generally a bit frayed round the edges but you get what you pay for. Would certainly recommend for folk not expecting luxury on short break

Clean, spacious room with very pleasant outlook; fast and reliable wi-fi connection in room; and the staff were very friendly. This may be the backpackers district of Edinburgh, but the Cairn Hotel looks and feels somewhat more upmarket than that - like a large b&b. Not too far from the centre of Edinburgh either (roughly fifteen minutes by foot). I paid £199 for 5 nights in a twin room (single occupancy), which including a weekend stay. Breakfast continental, but at no extra cost I wasn't complaining. Strikes me as rather good value, especially considering there was nothing much else on offer in the same category, when I booked some months before.

The Cairn Hotel is so convenient! It's about a 10 minute easy walk from the North bridge where the airport bus drops off and it's about 15 minutes to the royal mile. There's also a nice shortcut over the hill that's totally cool. My room was tiny but I was alone so it was perfect. The breakfast was excellent and the endless toast and condiments was perfect. They ran out of scrambled eggs but not ever easy eggs, but that made for a great story. Overall a great stay.

Ok the nice surprise was the beautiful women working there. It seems that they only hire knockout Polish women because when the cleaning crew hit the rooms it was like a dream come true. Knockouts, all of them. Bravo!
