We had a great stay at Brooks hotel; superb value for money too! The service was excellent - friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious (homemade muffins, scones and granola) and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The room was very comfortable and equipped with everything we could need (loved The White Company smellies). Brooks is within walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh, so we could enjoy all the sights and stroll "home" afterwards. We chose Brooks hotel because the picture of it's front door looked so enticing - we were not disappointed. Brooks reminded us of Babington House; elegant decor, easy atmosphere and that amazing breakfast!

On the morning of our one night reservation and en route to Edinburgh, the hotel contacted us to cancel our reservation but offered to book a room at a similar hotel nearby. We felt we had to accept. The other hotel bore no similarity and although the staff were friendly it was like staying in a leisure centre with accomodation attached. I went to the Brooks hotel and made my complaint. It was acted on immediately and the complaint was accepted without reservation. I received a full refund. Management and staff were genuinely apologetic.

We chose this hotel because the price seemed reasonable for the quality. We were not disappointed. The rooms were compact but well designed, comfortable and very clean. An iron and ironing board were swiftly brought on request and I was able to do all my ironing, an integral part of any holiday for me, in one go. My friend was able to relax in the elegant lounge while enjoying a drink from the honesty bar, making use of the free wifi and waiting for me to finish said ironing. The full Scottish breakfast is very good value and sets you up for the day. It is an easy 10 minute walk from the historic centre and not far from some great pubs. What's not to like?

I stayed 2 nights while attending future son in law's stag do, the rabble were in the serviced apartments opposite.
Excellent value and a really nice pleasant hotel. I would happily stay there again when next in Edinburgh.
Breakfast couldn't be faulted with a huge variety, and nice friendly staff.
The room was a little small but as it was a place to sleep and not lounge around in it didn't matter.
All clean and well maintained.

Room Tip: Ask if they have larger rooms!

This really was a fantastic place to stay and it will be our hotel of choice now in Edinburgh. Service was first class (one poor guy trawled 3 other hotels for an iron for me as other guests were using the ones they had). The bedrooms, dining and sitting rooms were all really tasteful and comfortable. Lovey extras in the room like feature pillows, good quality beds, White Company smellies, thick, sumptuous towels etc. The breakfast was arguably one of the best we have ever had in any hotel - everything was homemade (muffins, granola etc) plus the hot selection and quality of ingredients was five star. You are a fantastic place Brooks Edinburgh - keep on doing what you are doing.

This is a great value and very close to the action of Edinburgh. All the staff were very friendly, especially Paul, the night deskman. This place is minimalist in many ways but exceptional in cool ways, such as in the "Honesty Bar" on the ground floor where you can pour yourself a drink and relax. The cook is a nice guy and appreciates compliments on his cooking. The breakfast serving staff are often too busy to do the job well so it can take some initiative on your own to get your food.

Room Tip: We got a room facing the courtyard and it was nice and quiet.

This is one of the best hotel experiences I have had. We stayed to visit the Highland Show. A warm welcome, all staff excellent. Stylish design, spotless rooms, great shower. Great location 10 minute walk to City centre. Highlight of stay is breakfast, fresh local produce, fresh berries on pancakes, best bacon I have tasted. Overall this hotel delivers an authentic 5 star experience should be graded much higher than 3 stars. My new hotel of choice in Edinburgh.
