“Wonderful accommodations!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2013

We couldn't be happier with our stay at the Brooks Hotel! The room was large, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The linens were large and very nice. The room was quiet and easy to access. The term "hotel" was a little misleading, breakfast was fantastic, more like that at an upscale B & B. There are not many restaurants in the area and the parking area is not real convenient. However, the guest lounge and "on your honor" snacks is very nice. Don't let the lack of grand lobby fool you, this is 5-star.

This hotel is an excellent compromise between affordability and location. It's not right in the heart of town but it's only a short enjoyable walk to everything while being much cheaper than most alternatives.

I stayed in what was billed as a "standard double" room. It was smallish but at the same time I felt quite comfortable in it, though two people might feel a bit crowded. It had a nice big window that let in the summer solstice sun and a comfortable bed. It also had small desk and little table with a teapot and so forth. The bathroom was small though it conveniently had a heating rack which allowed me to wash and dry a couple of shirts during my one day stay.

The WiFi signal was weak in my third floor room, but the hotel has nice lounge and honor bar area from where the WiFi signal was strong. They also offer a breakfast for extra but I skipped it in favor of the nearby Loudons Cafe and Bakery which had immediately reeled me in with its fine looking table of desserts.

I went to Edinburgh to attend a conference at the university and meet up with my extended family. Brooks Hotel was the perfect location for spending time with my family and chatting over a long breakfast. The lounge area was so comfortable we didnt want to leave. We could walk into town and Princess St. and I could also walk to the conference venue. The hotel staff were so helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. They really set us up for the day. The rooms were fantastic, I don't think I have ever slept so well

Room Tip: All the rooms are equally comfortable, charming and cosy.

I can't fault the great service and friendly welcome I received when arriving at Brooks Hotel and the room was great as well. Breakfast was fantastic and for the services offered I could not find many faults.

The term bed and breakfast is one that might well apply better to the hotel as the hotel restaurant does not appear to serve food to hungry travelers in the evening, only at breakfast time. As Wikipedia states "There is some overlap between the concept of a small boutique hotel and a bed and breakfast", so fair enough.

I would certainly consider staying here again with friends as it is a great base for exploring Edinburgh and a relaxing place to stay. It didn't suit me for business travel - however if it was an option between similar hotels I would pick here again without a doubt.

We were a party of 16 with many indiviual demands during our 5 night stay during the Edinburgh Fim Festival which is a very busy time for hotels in the area. All the staff dealt with all our queries and problems with absolute professionalism. Great rooms. Great lounge and bar and beautiful outside courtyard area. A wide variety of food to chose from durng breakfast. Would highly recommend.

You will not be disappointed with this lovely hotel. from the minute you enter it is warm and welcoming, the decor is lovely and so clean. The staff were very attentive nothing was to much i asked for another pillow and it was there within minutes. Our room was plush with a king size bed, plenty of tea coffee and hot chocolate which i love. The breakfast was wonderfull huge variety which sets you up for the day, again the staff were right there with your tea and coffee no waiting and always with a smile. We were given a complementary bottle of wine for our anniversary which i had said on the phone when booking, so it goes to show that the staff really do listen, the bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Thanks guys&girls for a wonderfull stay.x

We had a great stay at Brooks hotel; superb value for money too! The service was excellent - friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious (homemade muffins, scones and granola) and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The room was very comfortable and equipped with everything we could need (loved The White Company smellies). Brooks is within walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh, so we could enjoy all the sights and stroll "home" afterwards. We chose Brooks hotel because the picture of it's front door looked so enticing - we were not disappointed. Brooks reminded us of Babington House; elegant decor, easy atmosphere and that amazing breakfast!
