Excellent staff, very helpful. Breakfasts were fabulous, but remember to pre-book. Hotel spotless, and rooms very well appointed, although our room was a bit snug. Would happily go again and recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh. Short walk to the centre, but bus stop within 100 yards.

A big thanks you to Brooks hotel of making our weekend away a great success. The beds coupled with the very strong breakfasts made for great value for money. The lounge area also let our group to catch up in comfort. A definite recommendation from a travelling party from Ireland particularly to the friendly staff

We stayed here for a long weekend and received a very warm welcome. We were shown to our room and given help with our luggage. The rooms are well maintained and the shower was excellent. There was fantastic attention to detail, even down to the posh shampoo provided.

Breakfast was the absolute star of the show. We were with a large group and made use of the private dining room. My favourite start to the day was on offer - French toast with bacon and maple syrup. But there was also a great buffet including home made granolas.

The staff were friendly and accommodating and the honesty bar in the evenings was a great touch as it made you feel at home. We enjoyed some whiskey in a very tastefully decorated lounge. There is also a nice terrace area for smokers and those who enjoy the crisp Edinburgh air.

Only a 10 minute walk to the main shopping area of Edinburgh and not far from Edinburgh Castle.

I will be going back again next year.

I recently stayed in Brooks Hotel in Edinburgh while over for a stag party. It is a beautiful hotel with a very classy feel to it. The honesty bar was superb and very comfortable and the staff were very professional and friendly. The price is superb and the breakfast was much appreciated after a night on the town. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I was in room 110. It was a double room with tv, shower and all mod cons. Very comfortable and clean...

The Brooks Hotel Edinburgh is a charming hotel within walking distance to major attractions. I rode the Airlink 100 bus from the Edinburgh airport to the Haymarket stop. The bus was clean and spacious with a fare of 3.50 pounds/ 6 pounds roundtrip. I walked across the street from the stop to Morrison Street then turned right on the second street which is Grove Street. The hotel is near the end of the street. It took me about 12 minutes walking at a brisk pace with luggage to arrive at the hotel.

The hotel is a small hotel in an old building. I really love hotels like this because they have so much character and charm. My room was on the third floor. It appeared clean and well kept. There is a lift available if you do not want to take the stairs. There was a large bed in my room with two nightstands, lamps, a desk with chair, a small TV, and a small area for hanging clothes. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and biscuits available in the room. The bathroom had a small glass shelf above the toilet to place your toiletries. There was a hook on the the outside of the bathroom door if you use a hanging toiletry kit. There was also a towel warmer in the bathroom. The entire room was spotlessly clean.

There is a lounge on the main floor with comfortable seating, a fireplace, and an honor bar. There is a restaurant on the main floor where breakfast is served each morning. I saw a computer available for guests to use, but complimentary wifi is available throughout the hotel.
Breakfast is served each morning with a range of prices from about 8-12 pounds. Items are cooked to order.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The price of the room was reasonable. I will return to this hotel on my future visits to Edinburgh.

The Brooks Hotel in Edinburgh is a very nice hotel with tastefully decorated public areas, excellent Front of House staff and centrally located for those that do not mind a 10 minute stroll. The rooms itself, well, there we have two different opinions. During the first night we stayed in a very small room with a bed mattress that had a width of 120-130 cm's. Undoubtedly this might still be classed as a double bed according to 18th century standards, but with the average couple nowadays having a 160/180 or even 200 cm's wide bed, the possibility of sleeping in a 120's size is as much as Scotland scoring a try against South Africa...therefore, we had a very bad first night. The second night was a different story as we moved to a larger room with a normal bed size. We had an excellent sleep that night, on the back of some complimentary drinks offered by the house to make up for the first night inconveniences. We can therefore still recommend the hotel, however the hotel must not sell the room we were in during the first night as a double but solely as an executive single.

Hello
Thank you for placing a review of us on Trip Advisor, we welcome all feedback. I am very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the size of your bed on the first night, the bed was a 4ft 6 bed which is the standard size for a double bed in the UK. I am glad that we were able to move you and accommodate you in a larger 6ft king size bed on the second night of your stay and that you found this more to your liking.
I will pass your lovely comments with regards to our staff and breakfasts on to them and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
Kind regards
