“2bm on business”

Great little hotel with a period style, furnished to a good standard. Quaint little reception area, pleasant room, honesty bar and nice breakfast room. Good quality breakfast set me up for the day. Great location with short walk into Grassmarket area and also short walk to Haymarket for the train and tram links. Impressed!

Once again we stayed at the Brooks Hotel (former Herald House) for our visit of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. After a friendly check-in we found nice and clean rooms. During this busy time of the year it's great to sleep in this quiet area. The excellent Scottish Breakfast (with Haggis) was great start of the day. It's easy to walk or drive by bus into the city centre.

This is probably the best family room in a hotel we have ever had. Staff are friendly and helpful. The double bed was massive and the kids had proper size singles and there was still space to move! Breakfast here is definitely an experience worthy of repeating, we've never had a better breakfast anywhere. I would certainly stay here again.

Great location to Central city. Staff so helpful and a pleasure to stay. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked and nothing a trouble. Rooms very clean and very comfortable bed. Would recommend.
Honour system for refreshments. Nice lounge area for relaxing. Old world atmosphere but up to date facilities.

Room Tip: Back of hotel vey quiet

Great service by the staff, decor of the hotel well done and well kept, and the room was also clean and nice. Location was good too - on a fairly quiet street, central but not right in the middle of things, and with many good cafes, bars, and restaurants near by. A very pleasant stay!

Room Tip: Not the cheapest hotel around but it was festival time so we were very glad to find this place at su...

First time in Edinburgh, so had very little sense of local geography. Brooks is a little further out of town than I had expected and I was a little apprehensive arriving late at night. That said, it's a lovely hotel and a lot of thought has gone into the design, the food, the service etc. It deserves to do well.

The rooms are basic but comfortable, although the absence of a lockable door was rather disconcerting. The breakfast, however, was fabulous and sufficient reason in itself for me to return. Wonderful choice, beautifully cooked with fresh ingredients. I stayed only two nights but the breakfast menu made me wish I were staying longer...
