Spent four nights in this friendly hotel. Perfect location. Room was small, but perfectly adequate as there is a very pleasant lounge to sit in as well as a conservatory, which we unfortunately did not get around to using. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, and extra coffee offered as soon as our cups were emptied. We did not have our evening meal in the hotel, but used the excellent bus service to go into the city for meals.

This an excellent wee hotel. It is spotless, the staff are all very pleasant efficient and friendly. Haven't had an evening meal here yet but the breakfasts are excellent. It is a great base for exploring Edinburgh. There is a bus stop opposite with regular service to and from the city centre. This is our second stay here and it won't be our last!

The title says it all - ideally placed for buses to centre and car travel in and out of Edinburgh. Excellent staff support and comfortable accommodation augmented by a excellent breakfast and plenty of car parking spaces. It ticks all the boxes for us.

Room Tip: There are stairs so ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility problems.

Just returned from a long weekend at the Kildonan, excellent hotel, very well positioned, .Nothing too much trouble , evening restaurant very good also. No need for a car, £25 taxi from airport relied on buses £3.50 day ticket great value for money to go anywhere around the Edinburgh area .
Will definitely re-book when returning to area

Room Tip: Room 6 on ground floor , close to reception ,but quiet, comfortable 4 poster , room not huge , hanging storage a premium

A 20 minute walk from the town centre and well served by a good bus service this little hotel is well placed. The room was a decent size with a limited t.v. service - but a t.v. lounge offered a full satellite service - crucial during an international cricket tournament. The bathroom was spacious with a bath and reasonable shower. The only fault was the fan was too weak to cope so after a shower you couldn't see anything for a while. The room had tea making facilities and you were greeted by a complimentary flask of sherry. The staff were very helpul and friendly and made light of problems when they presented themselves. The restaurant only serves dinner - which we didn't take so cannot comment upon, but the breakfasts were of a very high quality - particularly the cooked breakfasts. Another lounge with self serve bar completed the facilities. This was a very comfortable place to be and I would be very happy to return.
