Very comfortable room in an excellent situation would stay again. Staff very attentive. Location is ideal in the Old Town, short distance from the Castle and the Scottish Parliament. Nothing was a problem

Room Tip: No fitness centre and no pool. Not an issue as this is a boutique hotel.

We landed in Edinburgh on a hot sunny afternoon following a long drive down from the Highlands, with nowhere booked we ventured onto the internet and discovered The Inn on the Mile. Just 10 minutes after booking online we arrived at The Inn and were made to feel very welcome and were shown up to our room. We weren't disappointed it was lovely, the sort of thing you'd expect to find in a Hilton, and the welcome chocolate strawberries were the perfect accompaniment to the bottle of champagne we'd been saving! Breakfast the next day was superb too. We can't wait to visit again! Thank you

We tried to find accommodation in Edinburgh we wanted to find an affordable place as close to the Royal Mile as possible. We chose the Inn on the Mile because of its outstanding location, good reviews, and reasonable price for the area. We could not have been happier. The staff was just outstanding, they couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and the place itself is great. We loved the atmosphere, the food, the rooms, and the staff. Some people commented that it could be a little noisy in the rooms especially on the first floor because of the inn. We asked to stay on the second floor and couldn't hear anything. We do not know about noise on the first floor but I can say I didn't notice any in the stairwells walking up to our room.

The rooms were very clean and the food was just great!

This is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed in. We would love to visit them again.

This hotel has superb staff, location and bedrooms. The rooms are as good as any five star hotel in Edinburgh but better value and you couldn't of got a better location as you are central to shops, grassmarket, restaurants, the castle, and open park land which is all in walking distance. Chris and all the other staff were so helpful and welcoming. The only few draw backs was that there was no lift and plenty of stairs to rooms, but if your abled bodied the room waiting for you makes up for it!! Other thing to watch out for is that all meals are served in a busy bar on ground floor as is reception, we went over a cup day and so bar was extremely busy even at breakfast people were sitting around you drinking pints. However this probably wasn t the norm and all of Edinburgh appeared to be out celebrating that day! Food was average as was breakfast however you are so centre plenty other places near by.on the Friday night there was a good ambiance and band playing which was good to. If you don't mind a bit of a hike to your room you will love this hotel. Id defiantly go back there.

Hi bambilive

Many thanks for your review of your stay at our Inn on the Mile hotel, we are so glad you found the staff, location and bedrooms superb. Our location is amazing for all the tourist attractions you mentioned and more. We are unfortunately unable to install a lift due the buildings A grade listing, but I think you knocked it on the head the room is worth it once your up the stairs. Regarding the breakfast and if you talking about the day I think is in question this was a one off sporting event in Edinburgh and was a a bit of a freak on the service that day. All in all we look forward to welcoming you back soon. :-)

Big thanks to waitress Stef from Austria who was brilliant dealing with my party of 13 blokes on a stag night. We only popped in for a bite to eat at 7pm but ended up staying until midnight. Stef was a big part of that. Tremendous service - all meals were as ordered, while our haphazard approach to drink ordering was always met with a smile. A great covers band added to the atmosphere which built well throughout the evening. Stef, if you're reading, you were ace, and thanks for the potato photo!
