The hotel was conveniently close to the airport and with my room on the ground floor facing the railway track across a field it was quiet and comfortable, though it was a little trek to the lobby, bar and restaurant, so I'd recommend anyone with mobility issues to be aware and request a room near the lobby.
I choose to eat in the bar because I arrived quite late and didn't want to waste time locating a nearby restaurant. There was a reasonable choice of food at typical hotel prices and it was served in good time even though it was getting busy due to the imminent start of the Netherlands v Argentina World cup match.
The room was clean, a good size and the bed comfortable so overall a pleasant night's stay, nothing spectacular but also nothing to complain about.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back, away from the road.

Good sized clean room, helpful staff especially as several of us needed to have our key cards reprogrammed during our two night stay. First time we had seen haggis and streaky bacon served at breakfast, and I agree with another post, the sausages were great.

To get to Edinburgh, go out of the hotel to the right, cross the road and take Airlink 100 to Waverley Station for £1.50. About a 20 minute ride. Shops, many major attractions all within walking distance from there, and also best place to get return bus.

To get to the airport, go out of the hotel to the right, do NOT cross the street and catch the Airlink 100 at the signed bus shelter for £2.50. About a 10 minute ride right to the front entrance of the airport.

The mall is out of the hotel to the left along a pathway.

Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, rooms comfortable and clean, easy access to airport via bus ( 2.5 pounds) or cab, and easy bus access to downtown (1.5 pounds). Wifi free ONLY in lobby, usual tv in rooms, front desk helped me on several occasions.

We recently stayed here for one night. The check-in was easy and quick and the staff helpful. Location was great as there is a bus stop across the road with an express bus into the town. The room was lovely. Big and clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Real glasses in the bedroom and bathroom instead of the plastic ones which was a bonus. The food however was a real let down. We dined in the restaurant where the choice was very minimal and not very good. When the food arrived the portions were tiny. I was really disappointed. Our first choice in main course was unavailable as was part of our dessert.......which was vanilla ice cream!!! How is it possible to run out of the most basic flavour of ice cream?? Breakfast the next day was also a bit of a letdown. The food was buffet style. There was only white bread as they had run out of brown and the "muesli" muffin was actually a blueberry one. The scrambled egg tasted like it was made of powdered egg. The sausages were the only thing worth complimenting them on. I would go back to stay as the spa and room were great but I would not eat there again.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor which was at the back of the hotel so there was no traffic noise.

All you would expect from a Marriott.
Can recommend the sirloin steak in the restaurant.
The usual Marriott breakfast ( including haggis ) sets you up for the day.
A good start to our Scottish holiday.

I stayed several nights recently as the hotel was located close to where I needed to visit. However it is also convenient to access the airport and city via the new team service nearby. This made it good value compared to city hotels. All the usual services and pleasant staff.

The room was good and met the expectations of a Marriott room. The food at the bar was average. Drinks were well priced. The location is good for the airport and there is an express bus into town. The closest restaurants are a 15 minute walk away.
