We used our Marriott Points to purchase my wif'e's flight from Atlanta to Edinburgh and have a week in he hotel with our four year old granddaughter. We had a great experience, wonderful welcome, shown to our room to see if it was OK. Breakfasts and pool great for our grand-daughter. No comlaints at all. Thanks for a great week!!

I am a Marriott-phile having spent hundreds of nights in them over a couple of years with work. I've stayed in this hotel several times before, but this was the first time for pleasure. Our double exec room was elegantly dressed and a good size. The bathroom was clean and the shower good.

The hotel has a nice spa (pool, sauna, steam, hot tub, gym) and we enjoyed using it. It was clean and the staff there were helpful and friendly.

We only ate breakfast in the hotel, and it was OK - not the best attempt which is unusual for a Marriott (perhaps chef was having an off day).

The staff were helpful and checked us in several hours early on our arrival. They also gave good information regarding local transport. The hotel is primarily a business hotel and therefore it is outside of the city centre. Buses run, from just outside the hotel, every few minutes to the town. The airport express buses (every 10 minutes) are cheap (GBP£1.20), quick, and clean. If you're going in and out during rush hour, bear in mind it is a city and the traffic can get bad. Out of rush hour it only takes 20mins and it's final stop is the very centre of town just off the Royal Mile (near the castle). The hotel does have free parking for guests.

Verdict: Friendly helpful staff, elegant rooms, relaxed spa. Location is acceptable for those wishing to explore the city providing you don't mind going on the bus.

My husband and I were on this tour when we were in Edinburgh. We were staying at the Edinburgh Marriot and the company picked us up from the hotel which was really handy. Although it was a relatively long journey, we both felt that this was the best way to see Scotland when we didn't have a lot of time. Tom our driver, was brilliant and his anecdotes were funny and interesting. Obviously, it helped the weather was pretty good and this made the scenery even better. Overall, the frequent stops allowed us to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery of what is a mysterious and stunning part of the world.

Very convenient for pre-flight stay. Room comfortable as one expects from a Marriott but rather hot as climate control did not seem to work properly.
Hotel has odd layout (like a spider) and it was easy to get lost. Overall what you expect from this class of hotel.

I've travelled to Edinburgh a few times for work with an overnight stay here. I thought the hotel was actually pretty good and am happy to stay here when I need to overnight. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and efficient and the restaurant does pretty good meals. The rooms are quiet and the beds comfortable - I've had a good sleep here on the nights I stayed.

A good, well run hotel where everything works as you would expect.

I visited Edinburgh, as part of a group of 3 females, for a short weekend break. We stayed at the 4* Marriott Hotel which is located a convenient 5 minute taxi ride from the airport (approximate fair £8.50) and a 15 minute taxi ride from the heart of the city (approximate fair £11 – or the bus stop, located just across from the hotel, will take you into the city for £1.20) . The hotel itself is well-equipped, having both a business and leisure centre as well as a hairdressing/beauty salon. The room was modern, clean, bright and airy and the breakfast was more than ample. However, the hotel was let down slightly by both the food and the service we received at dinner in its restaurant, the ‘Source Grill.’
