...but not much of a pub vibe on the inside..... No energy. Compared with other spots in the neighborhood, it's pretty sedate. Older crowd mostly.
Does have a very interesting menu which I plan on trying.

We ate supper here and liked it so much we came back for lunch. We had bangers & mash and mac & cheese and enjoyed both.

The place is named after the Sherlock Holmes author because it is very near his birthplace. There is a statute of Holmes very near the restaurant. The restaurant is set up like you'd imagine Doyle's study.

Service was friendly but they are understaffed and my only complaint is that it took a while to get our meals, even for lunch when we ordered off the specials.

Location is very handy the movie theatre and the Playhouse theatre.

Very nice pub - not too big and quite busy -
Nice staff - they serve dinner and the food is good at an everage price - I had a big burger srved with chips and a bit of salad + half pint of tennets for less than 12 gbp.
Very nice atmosphere.A good taste of Scotland.

Of all the meals we had on our trip to Scotland, this was the most enjoyable. The pub itself was very clean and welcoming and has several levels to it to allow people to talk without disturbing others. Our waitress was very friendly and the food was good. I had the haggis, neeps and tatties (my first taste of haggis) and loved it. I would definitely go back.
