Description: Delhi Diner restaurant serves up traditional Indian and Bengali cuisine in the Mayfield area of Edinburgh. Experienced chefs pride themselves on bringing all the flavours of India to the table, with a special focus on Delhi influences; the extensive menu features all of your curry house favourites, as well as a range of more exotic and unusual dishes. There's definitely something for every palate here flavours range from sweet, sour, spicy and rich and creamy - including a wide choice of vegetarian dishes. Diners rate the tasty food and particularly recommend the tandoori. If you can't decide on just one, the mixed tandoori offers you a bit of everything - tandoori chicken, lamb tikka, chicken kebab, king prawn and sheek kebab, all served with mint sauce and salad. With its welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, Delhi Diner is the perfect place to relax after a hard day just order up, kick back, and take your taste buds on a trip around India.

We stay not far from the Delhi Diner and regularly use it for takeaway meals.
However, on this occasion we had friends visiting and decided to sit-in.
As always, the service is excellent with the staff very attentive but not obtrusive. The food and ingredients are top quality with the meat in particular extremely tender and fat free. The sauces, unlike many other restaurants, is not taken from 1 or 2 large pots used for all meals but individually created for each course. Another particular highlight are the nan breads - all freshly made to order in the kitchen.
I agree that the restaurant is small and not always busy but it is warm, very clean and a warm welcome is always given on arrival.
Absolutely recommend.

This restaurant is quiet and out of the way, but the quality and the relationship between price and quality is outstanding. We live in Edinburgh and eat out Indian regularly. This is by far the best Indian we have found, and that means amongst at least 50 that we have tried. This recommendation is worth more than the one-night-trial that most reviewers describe. It is small and quiet and simple, but the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the staff and the ease of getting a table on spec makes it our top choice. The lamb in their dishes is absolutely the best quality, tenderest, least fatty that I have ever encountered in Indian restaurants, and that goes not just for Edinburgh but many cities around the world. No complaints after more than 15 visits!

Food here is really poor, service is not of a high standard and the restaurant is cramped. There are way better Indian restaurants in Edinburgh, in fact every Indian in Edinburgh is better than this. Just save your money and go elsewhere

We found this place by peoples recommendations on this site and what a lovely place this was.
Don't be put off by the size of the restaurant as it is only small but extremely cosy would recommend that you book if you looking to eat Friday and Saturday evenings though just in case they are busy.
The flavors of the food was stunning and we would have to say this place sits in our top ten of curry houses.
The price of the meal was very reasonable, and the restaurant was very clean.
