“Commonwealth games experience”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We stayed at this hotel as we know how good Premier Inns are, but, but preferring to stay in Edinburgh rather than Glasgow for family reasons. The staff were as usual friendly, professional and efficient and added to the enjoyment of our 'Games' experience. We had trouble with a wheel on our case which was spotted by a member of staff, who contacted a member of the maintenance team who quickly fixed it for us! Such a help, without us even asking!!

Its a cheap place to stay, so don't expect luxury.
But rooms are clean and you have everything you need.
A bit of a que at breakfast but it was quick and there was a wide variety of food.
We ate in the restaurant before leaving to go home one night since we went to collect our luggage which they happily stored for us for the whole day after check out and the restaurant food was yum! Enjoyed better than a lot of restaurants I've been out especially to eat at.

Stayed April 2014.

Arrived at the hotel, plenty parking, good location. Was a unusally hot week for Edinburgh which made our room on the 4th floor very hot, got a exchange and refund which was nice. Nice hotel friendly staff, cant really ask for more.

Having heard all the hype about getting a good nights sleep at Premier Inns I had high hopes, which were dashed because of the stifling room temperature and an uncomfortable bed.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly but I suffered the ultimate horror when, after having a shower I dried myself only to find that the towel that had been provided had an enormous brown streak across it!

Breakfast looked like chaos. I didn't fancy battling the crowds and so popped into Milk around the corner - glad I did too.

We didn't expect much beyond the basics. Our room was large, clean and quiet. The place seemed like one a traveling business person would require. Oddly enough, the fire alarm did go off at 2:00 am just as a previous reviewer stated. No serious problems and no complaints.

Expect to be woken up at 5am by a fire alarm every morning outside. This is awful, the fire alarm then continues to ring alllll morning!! What sort of hotel is this, and you pride yourself on offering a good nights sleep!!! Far from it!!

Dear loubee7,

Thanks for your recent feedback regarding your recent visit. I'm sorry to hear that your stay with us was less than satisfactory.

Please be assured that we take all feedback seriously. Having investigated this incident I can confirm that the alarm you heard during your visit was in fact from the public house opposite the hotel. Our staff notified the company concerned and the police to try and omit the disruption to our guests. Unfortunately incidents such as this are out of our control.

We strive to ensure that every guest has a great nights sleep and feels as comfortable as they possibly can. I would be more than happy to look into your reservation to see if there is a way we can help you further regarding this particular stay.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience at the address below to discuss this.

Once again, thank you very much for taking the time to highlight your concerns and giving us your feedback.

Kind Regards,

This is an ok budget hotel in central Edinburgh. Rooms are basic but clean and most importantly quiet.

You are a 10 min walk from the central attractions of the castle and Princes Street. Service is ok and the breakfast is also ok: coffee from a machine with little taste but a choice of full English or continental all of whcih is self serve.

At least it has tea and coffee facilities in the room whcih more and more seems to be missing from other hotels.

If you enjoy a great shower in the morning this is not the hotel for you: it's a rather standard over the bath affair
