Description: Mithas is an innovative and exquisite Indian dining experience that reflects true Indian flavours using traditional methods in a contemporary setting. The chefs were handpicked to deliver what was cited by known food critics as 'bold, exciting and unimaginable within Indian cooking'. Our contemporary take is rooted in age-old traditions, therefore delivering taste sensations that take you beyond your expectations but with a reminder of the origins. Mithas's preparatory methods include the three core Indian cooking styles; Tandoor (clay ovens with temperatures of up to 390ºC), Sigri (cooking over a coal flame) and Tawa (searing and griddling on hot plate). The food is immediately served as it is prepared retaining its freshness, fragrant and delectable flavours. We sincerely hope you enjoy the Mithas dining experience!

“Came well recommended”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

My wife and youngest daughter tested Mithas out when I was not available . Praise from them could not have been higher.
Booked a table for early evening on a Friday expecting a very busy service, but it was pleasantly quiet with no problems.
Table position was not ideal, staring at blank walls but food was excellent.
Taster menus of seafood, mixed and vegetarian were all served as multiple dishes of tasty well prepared and presented food.
My only complaint would be that it felt rushed and the food seemed very mildly spiced, with nothing to make the taste buds tingle.
Will return at the request of the family but will eat A la carte and request a bit more heat in the dishes.
Not a place to go if the only Indian you eat is from the local takeaway, the prices will make you choke on the nan bread !!!

“Anniversary Meal”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

Came highly rated and didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and cooked fresh to order. The service too, was excellent, despite being so busy. The only downside was location - it's a taxi ride from the city centre - but definitely worth the journey.

“Best Indian restaurant in the land”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

This restaurant is absolutely superb. I have visited four or five times now and have been hugely impressed every time. The staff are friendly and polite, the décor is stylish and the food is just fantastic but unlike anything I've ever eaten in the more traditional "pakora and tikka masala" Indian restaurants. I am becoming positively evangelical about this place - you really have to try it to appreciate it.

“Tasting menu didn't do it for me...”
Reviewed 23 March 2014 via mobile

Mithas is a very stylish Indian restaurant in Leith. Staff were excellent. I regret ordering the £35 tasting menu. It was too heavy for my taste. I felt it was dominated by various sausage type kebabs without enough lighter options. Of the 10 or so courses only the fish course really appealed to me. I did see lots of beautiful food going to other tables which seemed to be appreciated. I did enjoy the ambience of the restaurant and I will definitely return; but try the a la carte menu next time.
