Description: Mithas is an innovative and exquisite Indian dining experience that reflects true Indian flavours using traditional methods in a contemporary setting. The chefs were handpicked to deliver what was cited by known food critics as 'bold, exciting and unimaginable within Indian cooking'. Our contemporary take is rooted in age-old traditions, therefore delivering taste sensations that take you beyond your expectations but with a reminder of the origins. Mithas's preparatory methods include the three core Indian cooking styles; Tandoor (clay ovens with temperatures of up to 390ºC), Sigri (cooking over a coal flame) and Tawa (searing and griddling on hot plate). The food is immediately served as it is prepared retaining its freshness, fragrant and delectable flavours. We sincerely hope you enjoy the Mithas dining experience!

Had tried to get table at a couple of Michelin Starred restaurants and now very glad we could not get a table as think it would be impossible to have eaten a better meal than the one we had at Mithas - absolutely delicious from the starter to the dessert. My husband and I love Indian food and have been to many Indian restaurants a couple of which are excellent but the food at Mithas is at a much higher level than anything we have experienced!! To start with we I had the Sea Bass with spice and coconut crust, my husband had the scallops - both delicious. I had the tandoori prawns which were the largest and tastiest prawns I have ever had, also had a sauce on the side which was delicious ! Despite being full we had to go for a dessert and first they brought a special pre dessert to wish us a happy anniversary (Lovely touch) then desserts lovely, Indian restaurants are not known for their desserts which is fine as normally far too full to even contemplate one but on this occasion knew could not miss - chose the ice cream which was without doubt nicest ice cream ever tasted - 3 different flavours including fig in a basket . Wine list was excellent as was the service provided by Prshotam who gave good advice on the various dishes I was finding it difficult to chose between. Although we live in Glasgow it will be well worth the journey to Edinburgh as cannot wait to go back!

Excellent lunch yesterday, we had the Tasting Menu and it was awesome. Everything was so tasty. Mervwyn was a superb host and nothing was a trouble.

The drink selection is equally impressive including a cocktail tasting menu. The watermelon martini is a must.

We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends.

Thanks again!!

We visited this restaurant for dinner and the food was absolutely delicious - as good as any of the best Indian meals I've had. Service was great and the staff were friendly, the portions were generous and our meal came fairly quickly. In addition the decor is beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

Mithas was our first meal on our first trip to Edinburgh and it was first class! Absolutely delightful from the sublime décor to the friendliness of the staff. The food was amazing, tried little bits of everyone's dishes from the tandoori duck to the monkfish tikka, all of it was the best that Indian Cuisine has to offer. The ice-cream was sensational, from saffron to caramelised fig, it was perfection! The staff are wonderful and make sure everyone knows how their dish will be served and how many side dishes you will need even if means you as a customer spend less money. If you like quality food and quality service then this is the place for you

On the excellent recommendation from our hosts we stumbled into Mithas. They have a special street food tasting menu for the next couple weeks. Everything we had was fantastic. The tasting allowed us to taste dishes we wouldn't have otherwise selected. The wait staff was great as well. We had a great conversation with our waiter!
