Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The whole place has a feeling of luxury but also very relaxing. Our room looked onto Princes Street, great for watching the world go by but no noise from outside. We were pleased with the cleanliness and extra touches, bottled water by the bed and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, served by cheery and efficient staff.

This was a pre honeymoon treat and it was absolutely incredible. We were given an upgrade and a congratulations dessert plate on entry. The suite was beautiful. Perfect location. Will definitely be back.

We stayed at the apartment. We’ve stayed at The Rutland twice now and loved it. We adore the decor in the rooms. The service at the front desk was brilliant. Breakfast at The Huxley was fantastic too. It is also very located and was within easy walking distance to many interesting places. Definitely staying here again when we come back to Edinburgh.

Stayed here for one night in the Junior Suite. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We had phoned prior to find out where best parking was and they advised they had a deal with NCP where got discounted rates on parking.

Hotel room was amazing and the spa bath was lush.

So clean and complimentary items available

Also mini bar with juice, wines and vodka etc avaliable to purchase.

Overall a great stay and would definitely return

The Rutland is a total gem. My wife and I spent three nights in Edinburgh using the Rutland as our home base. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. On check-in we learned we had been upgraded to one of the apartments at no additional charge (17_2). This is a large one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a large sitting room with big screen tv with some pretty cool interior design elements. The bedroom was large with ensuite. The bathroom, with heated floors, was very large with separate soaking tub and shower. The apartment is very well maintained. Breakfast is not usually included with apartment stays, but since we were upgraded, they honored us for breakfast each morning. Breakfast is done in The Huxley, which is right around the corner from the hotel. The hotel is in a great location and there is a stop for the Hop On/Off Bus tour less than a 5-minute walk away – you can buy your tickets for the tour on the bus. If this is your first time to Edinburgh (or you haven’t been for several years) I highly recommend the bus tour. You have access to it for 24 hours and it’s a great way to get around the city.
