Can definitely recommend! We had so much fun. Definitely go in a group so that you can share the different perspectives on the illusions. Loved the tunnel and the mirror maze, these are a must to do.

We hadn't planned to visit this attraction but saw an advert for it in a tourist booklet whilst on holiday in Edinburgh and happened to pass it whilst visiting the castle. We spent just under a couple of hours there and had lots of fun on each level. We started with the Camera Obscura which was interesting and I can't fault the enthusiasm of the member of staff doing the talk. As it was a weekday in November it wasn't too busy so we got to try out everything without waiting too long and I was particularly amused by my husband completely loosing all his sense of balance in the tunnel. It is a good attraction but I must admit we think it may be just a little too expensive as we were only able to amuse ourselves for just under 2 hours.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to write to us! I’m glad that you and your husband enjoyed your visit. It is great fun watching people go through the Vortex Tunnel as it does trick your brain into thinking you’re spinning round. Thanks once again.

My children said this was the highlight of their 3-day visit to Edinburgh. Several floors of optical illusions, a maze of mirrors, the camera obscura right at the top and the most amazing thing of all, the vortex, where you walk over a bridge with projected coloured lights revolving around you - my wife hated it but my children loved it!
You can leave and come back on the same ticket any time during the same day. We started at lunchtime, when the queue had gone down and came back again after dinner as it is open until evening time. Do not miss this place, especially if you have children.

Hello! Wow, what a compliment from your children! It’s brilliant to hear we were the highlight of their trip. Children seem to have this amazing ability to run through the Vortex Tunnel over and over, while the adults all struggle to go through once. The All-Day Ticket has proved massively popular. As we are one of the few attractions which are routinely open late, it allows people to come and go throughout the day.

Found this little place on our last day at Edinburgh and we are so glad we went. We spent about 2 hours in the tower and it was money well spent. The illusions were great and there were some challenging ones which make you wonder. There was also vortex which looked super fun but we didn't walk through it because it messed with our heads. There was also a auto wedding machine which we thought was fun, we got married for £1 and it printed our wedding certificate as a receipt as proof. We also managed to see the camera obscura show when we arrived which is worth going. It was free to go in with your ticket and they have this show throughout the day, depending on the natural light outside.
But overall, this is worth going, there will be some illusions that you will have seen before, but there were definitely more that we haven't seen.

Hi there! First of all, congratulations on your wedding! The Vortex Tunnel is very tricky to walk through but it is one of the most popular exhibits here. The Camera Obscura show is, as you’ve already said, included in the price of your ticket and is quite spectacular to see. It’s nice to hear how much you enjoyed your time here, so thank you for writing to us!

Hello! The wet weather can sometimes work against us when it comes to the image in the Camera Obscura, but it appears it worked in our favour with you! I’m glad you enjoyed all the exhibits we have to offer.
