“moving”
Reviewed 15 February 2014

Like the castle museum itself, I found the war museum tried to put you into the shoes of the ordinary serving man, giving you a glimpse into the everyday hardships and fears they had to face.
On top of this you had the regulation harrowing stories of heroism and captured trophies, as well as equipment down the ages.
The museum entry is included in the Castle price, so well worth a visit if you're there.

“Excellent museum”
Reviewed 29 January 2014

Recently took a group of Higher HIstory students for a visit and workshop connected to National War Memorial. Workshop was extremely interesting - recommend to other schools, and the fee is reasonable. Exhibitions interesting (war / weapons not really my interest, but necessary), esp. current / recent Arctic Convoys one.

“interesting to see military history of a nation through the ages”
Reviewed 13 December 2013

Plenty to see in here with loads of exhibits.

Some excellent informative panels throughout.

From the exhibits and background historical info you really picked up on how the military forms part of the Scottish identity.

Well worth some of your time
